Only at the end.
While any one else could stay with him then Popo was nearby. When he started really going no one was nearby! can’t fault the team for that.
They did indeed.
Set a ridiculous tempo which shed Garate, that was all that was needed. After that it was all up to Bert to just do his thing. Always comes down to the leader on hard stages, eh?
