Tirreno-Adriatico, Stage 5 ITT...LIVE!
My hunch from last year's results is that this course favors climbers more than most time trials, but is still reasonably favorable to the traditional chronomen. It's also March, not July. So the best way to handicap this race is to pick out guys who did well on Montelupone (on-form climbers) who are known to run well against the watch. That'd be Lovkvist, Nibali, Hesjedal, Kloden, Basso and Gerdemann, in roughly that order.
But it's March, so who knows. In any case, this stage should decide the overall, so enjoy!
Oh, and where to watch: GazzettaTV!

Looking forward to some Sunday Cycling :-)
Linus looking very good with this TT coming up, was it eighth last time round with a dodgy leg?
If no Milram win then I’ll go for Basso and a bunch of vds points! :-)

But 1 Basso 2 Gerdemann 3 Gasparotto would be cooler

Fair warning in advance
I’m incredibly psyched for this stage, bordering on jittery.
Should Klöden weasel his way past Lövkvist today using sneaky, underhanded, treacherous tricks such as “superior TT-skills” there will be a steady stream of invectives coming from this computer.
"Sausagesucking, sauerkrautsmelling son of a schweinhund " is a frase that could well come into play for instance.
Can we get this race going already?
PS: Oh and Basso better lay low too or he’ll get his as well.

Scott hasn’t gotten all of the plasmas sized for the riders yet.
That's the kind way of saying it...
…I have a feeling that a lot of the riders aren’t exactly thrilled with the Scott TT bike. That’s just a guess though.
True. I dunno. Just seems like its taking an awfully long time to make the switch...

Italy has an incredible number of beautiful opera houses
But I would still put France’s Chorégies d’Orange above all of them.
The history of that place is quite interesting
apparently it was built as an arena for some strange Italian ball game that was incredibly popular for 500 years or so, roughly until they discovered football. Pallone con Bracciale, they call it. Albertina might understand it because from the clips I’ve watched on YouTube it looks as equally incomprehensible as those strange Basque games.
The Opera house was only an afterthought as in help, what can we do with this very old, funny-shaped building with no roof.
Suck on this Jens
My prediction from yesterday:
Top 3 after the TT
1. Lövkvist
2. Klöden
3. Scarponi
swap 1st and 2nd

just saw that
ouch :-( . Particularly “Thomas crashed on a right hand corner early in the time trial and went over the guardrail. His bike ended up in a tree and he went down a banking” – sounds like he’s lucky his injuries weren’t more serious. and frustrating for him that he had the 2nd fastest time at the first split before crashing … not that it sounds like anyone watching via an RAI feed would have known because he isn’t Italian ;-) (ie he wouldn’t have been shown on TV).
