Link du Jour

Not that I'm in the actual habit of passing on links, but it occurred to me as my DVR failed to tape Paris-Nice that not all is lost. Thanks to my new best friend Wielerflits. Check out his Youtube page -- he/she has been in the habit of posting same-day video of the closing stages of every race this year. I'll embed today's action, but rather than clogging the front page I'll just refer you (and my lunch break) to Wielerflits' collection of Paris-Nice videos from the last week of amazing action.

[...adding, I make no representation about whether these clips are authorized. I leave that to Youtube and Wielerflits to figure out.]

I was lucky. I checked my TiVo to make sure it was recording it yesterday. It wasn't so I did it manually.

This seems to be a new problem for Versus Channel. I am thinking someone at Versus isn’t putting the correct keywords in all of their cycling productions. As a result, the wishlists and season passes I have (and others) set up for cycling aren’t seeing these shows. I had the same problem with the ToC preview shows. Once I set a season pass for “Tour of California” it worked fine.

Wielerflits completes me

I had to leave today right after they hit the summit of the big mountain, when I got back I watched the final few km on his youtube page. It was as good as watching it as live, really exciting.

Glad your DVR failed and thanks for the pass

Basso looked pretty good with that little engine check.

Suddenly

Astana sucks at stage racing… interesting.

Come on, man. I had a rough night and I hate the fuckin' Eagles, man!

Let's just hope...

that it extends to all three Grand Tours!

Go Basso!

Hmm 4th and 2 stage wins at P-N and 3rd plus a stage at T-A

I agree for their standards they have been below par so far, but it must be nice to have such a strong squad that you can pull off those results and still be underachieving..

As team they were far below par..

A Contador would have gained that score in any squad and Kloden also didn’t get much help.. His TT win wasn’t a team performance and he should thank Iglinsky on his bare knees that he’s third.. But where were the other 6 Astana’s?

Crashdan: "Veni Vidi Vici beats Wing Kong Exchange... … and I’ll change my signature to a backwards smile for a month."
Franzoi wins Parijs-Roubaix and I win a date with the VDS of Team Txirrindulariak..

Basso looked good with that little smiling frown that he gets...

when he’s making himself, and therefore those in pursuit, suffer gallons.
