CycleGirl's Classics Diary
Hi all,
Just thought I would start a dairy entry here of my upcoming trip to Belgium/The Netherlands. If you interested then I hope you enjoy, I'll try and update every couple of days whilst there.. That's if I'm not in some pub somewhere trying all the Beers or too drunk when back in the hotel at night.. You might get an x-rated version then, LoL.
To start i'll put a quick itinerary of what's happening -
1. Flanders Cyclosport - 75km, and my first hill i will be riding in Belgium is Koppenberge (welcome)..
2. Tour of Flanders
3. Two days of riding around Gent including the famous Kemmelberg, war graves etc
4. Gent-Wevelgem
5. Two days of more riding, including the Arenberg forest and a few cobbled roads..
6. Paris-Roubaix - and meeting up with Albertina in Gent
7. 5 days of seeing whatever I want in Belgium, thinking of a quick trip to Luxembourg (maybe lunch with Frank).
8. Drive to Maastricht, Holland - staying in Hotel
9. Amstel Gold - Can't wait for this day :-)
10. Time to go home, back to Australia and reality, and start planning for TDU and worlds next year.
Chat soon.
Hey all, first entry.. I'm leaving in 2 days... But shit... Why didn't anyone tell me cycling gear takes up half your suitcase.... so the last day or so, i've been struggling about what to take....more jersey's, bibs, knee high boots, that hot evening dress and jeans.... OMG it's not fair that airlines have weight limits..... O hh i'm going to have a wine and maybe that will help... Chat soon.

Sounds like a great time--have fun!
One of the sweetest things today was seeing Tom Boonen go past me backwards on the climbs. .--Mark Cavendish, MSR
Sadly
the photo above was taken on the road to the airport, and Cyclegirl never saw the rental car courtesy shuttle coming . . .
No not yet..
Very ANNOYED, I’m hoping it arrives Monday or Tuesday next week, or I’m wearing boring gear… fingers crossed..
