The Brabant Arrow: LIVE!
Brabantse Pijl... Fleche Brabanconne... honestly, I am a little confused about this race. The fact that Oscar Freire won four times made me think of sprinters, but several trusted sources corrected me that this is a climbers' race, and the final circuit includes the Bruineput and Alsemberg climbs. So it's not that selective, necessarily, but it is climby. I know he rides for Silence, but it's a perfect race then for Philippe Gilbert. Maybe a Velits surprise? Anyway, enough guesses, let's get started.

He shouldn't lose a ton of condition but
he’s going to have trouble pulling on the bars for while. Plates and screws mean an ugly, displaced break. I hope he can still ride a decent Giro.
Imagine, first serious crash in years might relegate him to working for Levi in May and definitely working for Alberto in July. I’m thinking this isn’t how he pictured his comeback.

One of the sweetest things today was seeing Tom Boonen go past me backwards on the climbs. .--Mark Cavendish, MSR
i'm very close
to putting him in the corner, but he may pay off in the long run. for now, he seems to have fallen victim to the Lotto blight – what the frick is going on with them?! it’s so bad that Cadel has had to take up sprinting!
he adds 20 to my 180 for an even 200 for the weekend – i guess that counts for something…

shoulda got further forward before shooting off

but this is the point
he starts far behind so that when he passes by their opponents he already have a nice speed. Then they have more difficulty to suck his wheel.

They were saying Wegman should have waited but I don’t think he gets separation if he waits. Its a balancing act. Waiting doesn’t always help.
