Driedaagse de Panne Stage 2 LIVE!
Back to the coast today, via the Kemmelberg. Frankly, it's kind of Flanders-bike-porn and won't really figure into the outcome, which I can tell you now will involve Mark Cavendish winning a sprint. Enjoy!

ECholons!
Good morning!
Since Chris has predicted a Cavendish win, we now know that’s the one thing that will not happen today. Blocked in on the sprint, or the sprint teams fail to bring back a breakaway?
One of the sweetest things today was seeing Tom Boonen go past me backwards on the climbs. .--Mark Cavendish, MSR
The break is gaining ground over eight minutes now....but it'll be brought back
I’d like to see a Wouter Weylandt win..say that ten times fast…mainly because the dutch commentators are amusing when they say ‘Wouter’ and it reminds me of an old SNL skit with Deeter and his dance…
CTV working great today
APRIL FOOLS.
No, really, it is working great. Really. I just wanted to pre-empt that one.

The Danish channel shows hockey, not cycling
No, that’s not a joke. And yes, it is.

Yes
But you’ll need the TVU software. The link to the channel is here.

New Velomagazine just arrived....
entertainment while I wait for Sporza…nice
CHAVA on the cover
Their little April Fool's joke?

Oh, well.
Sporza’s reluctance to show up means I don’t get to watch even a little racing today. Off to get my roots covered stimulate the economy by selflessly spending money at a hair salon. Have a good race, everybody!

This from CyclingFans
Sporza should have been live by now. So either they are having technical problems or the feed is now geo-restricted for this race. It won’t be any consolation to those of you waiting but CTV is blocked here in France and coverage on French TV (Sport+) doesn’t begin until 16:00 CET (10am U.S. Eastern). We continue to monitor Sporza and will also see if there is a live stream for Sport+ when the television coverage begins.
Danish link works fine
As long as you’re at a computer where you can download the player.
And now I really need to leave…bye!

look for the little icon on the bottom left bar...
open player and it worked for me
Break just gained a minute in the last 5K
No one pushing hard behind so far. If there a head wind coming in? The fact they let them get away is interesting. It is obvious QS doesn’t really care about this race.
If you're bored chew on this....
MILAN, April 1 (Reuters) – Spanish rider Alejandro Valverde has been charged with being involved in Spain’s Operacion Puerto doping scandal, the Italian Olympic Committee (CONI) said in a statement on Wednesday.
CONI’s anti-doping prosecutor has called for a two-year ban but any suspension agreed by an Italian anti-doping tribunal is likely to only take effect inside Italy.
Well, there you go
Not a surprise. But still.

Didn't McQuaid make a comment
about trying to enforce the ban worldwide? I seem to remember something to that effect but can’t find it googling.
So he's out of the Tour then? It pops into Italy.
Perhaps he’ll concentrate on the right races now….
Probably not the ASO ones
LBL and Fleche come to mind…

Who's in the break?
The peloton seems to go a bit faster now.

Serpa?
Can’t find him in the results from yesterday. Not on the startlist either.

Anyone found a justintv link yet?

Nice weather anyway
as the rain rips on my window.
It depends
Very dangerous when they’re wet. Also dangerous for inexperienced riders. Otherwise no danger I guess.
I once made a great slide with my new bike thanks to wet tram rails.
Forgive me to disagree....
They’re dangerous wet or try, experienced or not. Many an old pro has crashed over a level crossing

Morning gang :-)
Way too much work going on so I’ve been listening and reading along lately.
Just peaked over and caught Meatball and Will flying through the screen. Happy day. :-)

Love it Boonen riding the break down
You don’t see to many other world champs who would do that!
Boonen practicing putting the hurt on.
Good K’s on the legs for him.

So is Cav riding the Giro?
I think most hope he wont so some other sprinters might actually get stage wins
Well, he mentioned it a few months ago.
I didn’t plan to do the GP Scheldeprijs, but I think I will now. Only one other person has won it three times, and no-one has won it three times in a row, which is what I’ll have the chance to do.
That was back in January, though—has he changed his mind?
One of the sweetest things today was seeing Tom Boonen go past me backwards on the climbs. .--Mark Cavendish, MSR
I'm just wondering why he wouldn't
I mean, he’d have a couple weeks off before ToR, so it’s not like he’d have to drop it to prep for something else. If he was going for, say, Amstel Gold or Fleche Wallon, I could understand, but it seems strange to me…
I'm betting he pulls a Robbie at the Giro

meaning?
show some love to the ignorant.

I think what is meant is that Cavendish will pull out before the end.
Which is his stated intentions.
I think it’s called Sprintus Interruptus.
p'raps one could defer the neverending Cav debate for the post thread?
But wait here for the results?

Strange, why?
Interviewer was asking (42 MB) if Cav going behind Boonen on the Kemmel was because of the thing Boonen said before M-SR, that Cav couldn’t climb. Cav was being cheeky answering “no, no” and McEwen butted in from the background: “Yes it was!”
Pretty much
describes my team.
