voted Boonen, however . . .

my Heart wants George, and also I almost voted: Cancellara, Maaskant.
And . . . Hushovd, Pozzato, Devolder and Haussler also should be podium contenders.

Should be AWESOME ! !

oops also Flecha should be in there

not at all hedging my bets, honest, it’s just there are so many possibilities, it really will be an incredible morning, cant wait ! !

My heart is all George.

Then Cance and Maaskant. Can we make this happen? :-)

I'm no good at these poll things.

I look at the guys who don’t have any votes yet, and want to vote for them all.

+1

You may very well think that; I couldn't possibly comment.

wanted to vote for sylvain

but I know better, so I voted for Haussler instead.

Today, I raced à la Chavanel, and I succeeded.

You should know better...

I really want George to win

but something will have to happen to keep Tommeke from another cobble. Either bad luck or someone being strong enough to drop him. Theoretically, Pippo could beat him on the velodrome, but he’s the strongest rider, the fastest over the cobbles, the best sprinter, and he’s got the most support.

Of course with all that I’d say he’s got no more than a 20% chance of winning.

has anyone else noticed that all of the favorites...

…don’t mention George? Anywhere.

Haven’t seen a single lead up interview that wasn’t a Columbia rider that mentions him.

Hell even Cav didn’t mention him at all for Da Ronde. Interesting.

Au contraire!

Spartacus gives George his due in CN’s article here.

As to who do I love? Seriously, I’d be happy if any of about 20 guys wins tomorrow (I like to spread the love around, you know,) but my heart wants the magnificent Juan Antonio Van der Flecha for the win.

missed that one, but to be fair to me, its not the 12th here yet...lol

I guess my point is that in the US he is the top fav. Even though he is capable and prob one of the strongest riders right now is rarely mentioned in the top five in europe with directors and riders.

by humbug1 on Apr 11, 2009 11:11 PM EDT up reply actions

Any of 20?

Only 20?

Nah, I know what you mean. Hell, it’s no secret who I’m rooting for the loudest… but… well, if Ol’ Flaparm took it, I reckon I’d be so happy I’d just about cry. And the George thing… but I don’t have the passion in quite the way that most folks seem to, LOL. I’d stand up for Van der Flecha, for sure. It strikes me that it would be a bit easier for me to call who I do not want to win (but I am not about to go starting a riot!).

Riot...

No Boonen

No Haussler (only because I left him off my VDS team and he’s killing me with his results)

No Chavanel

I know I should be headed to bed, but I had to check the weather,

and it is now currently raining lightly in Lille. The forecast is for cloudy weather by daybreak, with more showers to fall early in the evening.

I refuse to vote, I can't...

The race has all my favourite riders(- Voigt), so I chose option n; all riders crossing the finish line holding hands.

A frozen 'cross ride from this last weekend. As you may be aware we have had siberian conditions here in the UK with a low of -14 degrees centigrade here on saturday morning. It was a beautiful sunny morning so i layered up and set off for a snowy 'cross ride along a roman road. I checked the thermometer when i got back to find it had been -10 throughout the ride! I had a lot of fun though and the views were spectacular.
