Belgian Word of the Day: versnellingsapparat
The 1989 version has excellent video of classic Ronde-scenes.
Aw man....Fantastic stuff!
This means I will get nothing at all done on Saturday, watching these repeatedly as prep for Sunday.

Or, “le cadute grande di Fiandre.” Oy! Forgot that Boonen bit it at one point.
And H\o/ste… niagara falls in the interviews. Poor guy.

Absolute gutwrenching
to watch Hoste lose the thing he wants most in the last meter. No wonder we are so hooked on cycling!
It is life personified.
1969
That Merckx victory is quite impressive. He rode in front for almost the entire race. Won the thing with a lead of 5 minutes.

One need look no further
than RVV 2004 to see the tragic arc that would describe \o/’s career.
Wessemen played him like a fiddle, knowing full well that he was incapable of letting another Belgian go up the road. All he had to do was wait…
