QOTD
My poll below may be distracting, but let's not overlook the theme of the weekend, as put so well by Michele Bartoli:
I think Liège-Bastogne-Liège, Flanders and Roubaix are the three most important races; if you win one of these you are part of cycling's story.

you are a part of one day classics history.

Alas...
just a few showers for Sunday, it seems. Nothing epic.

Here's my QotD
How much damage is Chris doing to his kids with these repeated exposures to Girbecco?
Girbecco says:
“Lasting damage!”

Well, Bartoli should know
His 1997 Liege win is one of my favorite races of all time. The last three surviving riders were Bartoli and the Once double-team of Jalabert and Zulle, then the #1 and #2 ranked riders in the world, and Bartoli just kept attacking, wearing out first Zulle and then, finally, Jalabert. Youtube shows the coup de grace, as Bartoli rides away from the exhausted Jalabert for the win.
Is it Sunday yet?
Amazing strength after
seven hours of racing!

Liege is much more of a wearing-down process, there’s a constant, slow elimination through the back door as the weak quietly slip away as the race goes on and on.

I get paid to make other people suffer on my wheel, that's good." Jens!
