Around SBN: Leandro Damiao Is Still Really Good

Youtubery: 2008 LBL

Ten minute highlight package of the last 35km, with Basque commentary (I think). One point to take from this: if they put the line in the same place, it's a pretty short distance from the last corner, which makes for an abbreviated sprint. This might give Andy Schleck or another one of the favorites not known for sprinting a fighting chance: attack before the last corner and hope the faster finishers can't wind it up until after, when it may be too late. Anyway, the vid:

Bai, a Basque feed.

Doesn’t look like etb are doing it live this year, which is a shame as they always have a reliable feed when they choose to broadcast things….

I like the sound of that

Would love to see Andy make another nice finish, like 1st place.

Si

The finishing climb is only like 6% gradient and fairly short. It isn’t really enough for a pure climber to get and hold a gap. Fairly fast finish from the St-Nick on (btw, the race orgs use the hyphen, who am I to argue?)

If I jump of a bridge, would you follow?

Wait, I guess I hope you would. Never went beyond level 3 swimming lessons.

yeah always a hyphen in French

when there’s a saint in a place-name. I don’t know what the rule is but I know there has to be a hyphen.

Swimming?

Yes, I definitely can swim. Far, far better than I spell!

That video neglected the best part of the race.

Andy attacking the group and Rebellin and Valverde chasing him down. I guess you can only expect so much from Youtube.

A frozen 'cross ride from this last weekend. As you may be aware we have had siberian conditions here in the UK with a low of -14 degrees centigrade here on saturday morning. It was a beautiful sunny morning so i layered up and set off for a snowy 'cross ride along a roman road. I checked the thermometer when i got back to find it had been -10 throughout the ride! I had a lot of fun though and the views were spectacular.
