Flander's Hotitude Is On!

I have to bow down to the "Where are you from?" thread. OMG! That thing so rocks! It's so filled with comments I'm waiting for it to blow up. Which, IMO, only speaks volumes for just how awesome the Cafe is! Since we gleefully pulled another awesome handful of Lurkers out of Lurkville, a handful which need some practice in jumping in to learn how to post pics, I think it's time we had another Hotitude thread. :-)

The fun is very simple. Huge encouragement to post your own pic of your favorite rider riding Flanders this Sunday (or at least on the start list). As in most of our cases, we don't yet have our own snapshots, so feel free to "borrow" other's. In doing so, in respect to the owner, please post the link to where you got it. We want to make sure we give full credit to the photographer - or at the very least, the location we found it.

If you're shy on posting the pic itself, we all love clicking on links here, so feel free to add a link to your rider's name. Simply highlight the name in your message (subject line will not work well, so do it in the message), click on the little link icon above the message part of your post and post the link of where your pic is. If you want to post the pic itself, go to the message part with your curser, click on the little icon of the tree and post the link. I recomend doing a preview to see if it worked first before posting. Some photo links are not friendly to posting so this is a quick way to check.

To start the post, I have to share a pic of one of my favorite guys, Meatball at Garmin. The man had an awful fall this morning at de Panne and his start could be questionable so in wishing him a speedy recovery, I wanted to share a pic. Here he with his roomie at the race Mr.Steven Cozza...

From: farm4.static.flickr.com

I also give you Greg Van Avermaet...

And of course many of our favorites, the one and only Mr. George Hincapie (from my pics)... 2854548445_c1be77279e_medium

Enjoy!

What exactly does my work have against hottitiude? This is a scandal.

Ha! Wonderful.

Hilarious!

You know, it actually looks fairly believable until you get to Hoste…who so does not have a body like that in real life….

Which is which in this "Boy Band?"

Now who is the the Heartthrob? The Shy One? the Cute One? The Older Brother? The Bad Boy?

Dragon

For a close-up, go to Corvos and search for 00011264-018 .

Very nice, IMHO. But then I like ink. And I like dragons. Actually, I recently decided that it’s time for some more ink, myself – and I’m thinking it’s gonna be a dragon ;-). Mine will have to be black tribal-style, though…

Dang! We missed it.

SportWereld had a cyclist hottitude poll, featuring many of the usual suspects (forgive them for leaving off that Italian guy—this is a Belgian newspaper, so they probably don’t know any better). Poll is closed, but you can go enjoy the pictures and see the results (did I mention this was a Belgian paper? I think you can guess who won…)

How ridiculous is that?!

They have other non Belgians but no Benna! They need to be educated. We should write them an email, forthwith! And I’ve never seen Sandy Casar mentioned in a hottitude poll before….

by Albertina on Apr 3, 2009 11:30 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Well, they did include Mr. Guilty Pleasure.

Maybe they figured if you’ve seen one Italian in lime-green, you’ve seen them all.

Their picture of Cavendish

is classic! It combines the “dramatic turn” from Amazing Race opening credits with the “finger point” from Isaac the Love Boat bartender.

by Katiek on Apr 3, 2009 1:08 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

lol, Isaac the bartender

So funny.

Could they have found a worse photo of Breschel? For a hottitude poll, they didn’t do so hot with the photos. Really, they should have consulted us.

by gavia on Apr 3, 2009 1:10 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Amen to that.

Where are Breschel’s model pics in all this?

by Albertina on Apr 3, 2009 2:36 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Truly

We need to find some of these, actually.

by gavia on Apr 3, 2009 3:07 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

No, I registered to vote, and then it said the poll was closed.

Their open polls are all about de Ronde.

right clicky

Right clicky the photo. Hit copy image location in the right clicky menu. Then, in the comment thingy here, hit the tree icon. Paste the image location into the box. Remove the garbage flickr adds after the .jpg, usually some qv=0223 like stuff. Hit post.

by gavia on Apr 3, 2009 1:59 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Go to the picture you want, right-click on it, then select "Copy image location."

Then come back here, click on this: and right-click again and select Paste. There’s a http:// already in the box by default, so make sure you don’t duplicate it when you paste your link in there. Check Preview before you post to make sure it worked.

by gavia on Apr 3, 2009 2:10 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

I agree, in a thread where it's all about the pics, I prefer to just scroll through them.

On others though, for less bogging down of the thread, I like the links. This one however is all about the pics. ha ha.

Cozza is one of my favorites! Stache or no stache.

I was a little sad to hear he has a GF…..I was holding out hope that he and my sister in law would date so we would be related. ;-) I never did get a chance to meet him at AToC. Glad to hear he is a good guy.

by cyclingdiva on Apr 4, 2009 10:29 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

He's super friendly. I got to get a pic with him after the TT at TOC.

His GF is one of the podium girls from TOM, very pretty, and she too is very nice. They make a really cute couple. The TOM was kind of funny as people saw him and didn’t recognize him with out his mustache. :-)

I was going through some of my old Tour Down Under photo's...

…when i found this one that might become an instant Hottitude classic. My goodness the Gerolsteiner team loved their riding!! I don’t think that the rider’s identity should be revealed for legal reasons.

errrr....am i supposed to sign this??

With the help of a TDU start list, that is. Nice, ah, chest. If I’m right, I don’t think he’s riding Flanders this year.
