Techs-Mechs: First ride ever on Tubies
Thank you to those who commented on my piece a few days ago about gluing sew ups. I appreciated all the advice and encouragement. Today was the first day when the rubber hit the road (no pun). I took them out for a nice ride to get the feel of them. I have one word to describe the experience: Wow.
They are super light, really nimble and they really hug the road. I had an 11/23 cassette on, but stuff I usually shift in to the 25 for was easily handled in my 21. The rear wheel really spins up fast. Also, I might add that the record hubs never disapoint, and the Barcelona rims felt solid with an excellent braking surface. These will be fun to race, but now I'm thinking I want to ride them all the time.
Sew ups, where have you been all me life..?

I will never
comment on tire integrity again. After chatting about this Thursday I completely detonated a Conti Sprinter, in the pouring rain. Of course, I just did the change, very cleanly if I say so myself.
CQRanking.com, you complete me.

It's always the case
It’s like talking about going 19-0 during the season in Football before you won the superbowl…
Ouch, that still hurts..
