They switched servers cause they had capacity problems on stage 1
they have this temporary URL until the new server is up.
In Chauncey we trust!

I hate my cell already. I don’t want it doing more than it does to ^&% up my day.

You don't have to do it on the phone
You can use the webby sites. That’s what I do. No phone for me.
Waiting for the DNS caches to update.
Which was probably more than you wanted to know. Server change, takes a little bit of time for the server caches around the interwebs to update.
Hope it comes up soon. I didn’t write all those previews for my health ;-)
it was your previews that took it down to begin with. So many people trying to read them. :-)
They had to upgrade to handle the Gavia effect.

I still think it wasn't a DNS problem
Servers www and test always had the same IP address for me. Seemed like a virtual host config problem. Never mind, it’s all better now!
Thank You...
test link works.. wanted something to read this quiet Sunday evening

Dumb Steephill Question -
There’s so much on that site that I’m sure I’m missing stuff, but why does it have a “.tv” ending? It doesn’t have streaming video does it? Is it because of the video episodes showing the various travelogues from different sites?
I mainly go there for the event dashboards, but the “tv” part confused me.
I think it's something of a legacy
of the original purpose of the site (Steve’s own travelogues).
I love Steephill.tv, and the fact that it’s essentially an individual labour of love makes it all the better.
poached from Wiki..
The domain is currently operated by dotTV, a VeriSign company; the Tuvalu government owns twenty percent of the company. In 2000, Tuvalu negotiated a contract leasing its Internet domain name “.tv” for $50 million in royalties over a 12-year period.1 The Tuvalu government receives a quarterly payment of US$1 million for use of the top-level domain.
Just because I have time on my hands….

ah ha
but you left out the most interesting part. Tuvalu’s gonna disappear under the waves, some day soon.
When exactly did an island built of 90% birdshit on top of a coral reef
decide that selling off said birdshit was a sustainable long-term business plan.
