Steve Larsen Died
Remember before "Cyclsm Sundays" on VS, when OLN first started? About the time it took off, Steve was doing these goofy commercials for Mongoose bicycles. RIP Steve. I'll pray for your family.

It sounds like they have ruled out a heart attack
and a blod clot and that the family has asked for more tests to better understand what happened.
The follow up from VN is here.
I love C, not because he rocks as a cyclist, but because deep down he's a band geek! LOL!

There's been some research about systemic risks in extreme endurance athletes...
…recently, no? I think some of this was mentioned in the wake of Frederik Nolf’s death as well. Very sad, as many say.

fmk's commet about Motorola...
…that’s just rude. I didn’t know Mr. Larsen, but he showed up to race with the pros a few times when I was in other events here in NoCal. The guy built a massive career for himself, and he did it the hard way. No 1/4 million dollar team buses, no multi-year contracts, etc. It seemed like he was just starting to enjoy the fruits of his years in the sport, and now he’s gone, leaving a wife and several kids behind. He was a tremendous rider, one of the very best of the 1990’s. Truly, truly sad.
Never, ever, work with a sprinter.

Rude?!?
What’s rude about acknowledging that he was an LA teammate?
And what’s rude about his sudden death raising an eyebrow? Isn’t it ruder to believe that there’s a pretty and palatable explanation for everything, despite all we know about this sport’s history?

There's a time and a place for everything.
When someone posts what’s basically an “in memoriam”? That would generally not be the time & place.
