Tour de Suisse Stage 2... LIVE!

Suisse-live_medium

Boy, this is an odd one. A loop from Davos, down a couple thousand meters, then slowly climbing back up to Davos. I dunno if it will separate out the field much, but it's bound to hurt. Enjoy! [Since you don't have to ride it.] [Except WillJ of course.]

Ticker with webcam is an interesting idea

But so far, we get either a shot of the back of the peloton, or a silver team car.

The green car and the picture with the green frame is just behind the break.
The yellow car and picture with yellow frame is just behind the peloton
The red car and picture with red frame is just behind the last car in the caravan.
That is how I read the information anyway, so no chasers.

Another ticker goes live

at radsport-news. In German, but has actual words:

After 40 kilometers, two drivers currently at the top: Javier Armendia (EUS) and Josef Benetseder (VBG).The duo has just under 2 minutes ahead of the field. In between runs still Hervé Duclos-Lassalle (COF) as the sole pursuer. It is, however, only 20 seconds before the great throng.

Eisel should be DQ'd

I am disappointed that the Swiss, of all people, are not enforcing the rules of sprinting.

Indeed, Eisel started the sprint on one side and rode at an angle to the other side as if he would collide with Ciolek. This forced Ciolek to waste energy leaning back at Eisel just to hold his line rather than putting all his effort toward sprinting forward. Also, Oscar Friere just stuck in behind Ciolek as a result of Eisel illegal and dangerous squeeze play.

Shame of the TdS for allowing dangerous sprinting and setting a very dangerous precedent.

Et tu Bazayev?

Looking around the webby at various team’s reports (those that have them) led me to this blurb:

Assan Bazayev did not start yesterday due to a team sanction.

That’s all it says. I have no idea what non-injury problem would cause a team to sanction a rider- to pull a rider from starting the second stage of a nine stage race. Well, obviously I do- and you are thinking the same thing. UCI is notifying teams about suspect riders, right?

I saw something somewhere

about him being sloppy with providing his exact location at all times.
