Tour de Suisse Stage 5... LIVE!

The cheese gets really sharp today, as the TdS ascends two cat-1 climbs in the last 60km, including a final ascent to Serfaus, Austria. The Arlbergspass gets pretty hard over the last 10km, and the last 10km of the race should see plenty of attacks, particularly with such a nice mix of teams, including several rather desperate teams, all bunched in together. Really, if Milram and Fuji don't go all out in Austria, they may as well find another line of work. Should be great fun!

I find the last 12km interesting, thinking Schleck will attack Valjavec?

All favorites will be present on the last climb
Most of them will watch each other like hawks.
I predict a sprint to the line of a group of 5-10 riders. Cunego will easily win it.

I hope you're right about Cunego
Once again I’ve put my faith in him taking the stage, i did on several during the Giro. Cmon Damiano!

OK then, I bow to the dutch hegemony
but I hope you realize this is a hollow victory, much like Montenegro winning the Eurovision thanks to sympathyvotes from Slovenia and Serbia.
So Eurovision conspiracy theories exist in Sweden too
You can hear those every year in Holland and nobody seems to realize that we have just been sending crappy performers with silly songs for the last decade or so.

I'm in England, Grimsby- north-east coast...
Though the beach is technically Cleethorpes. Grimsby and Cleethorpes are basically two places so next to each other they’re the same place. There’s a road where if you stand on one side you’re in Grimsby, but if you stand the other side Cleethorpes. And technically it’s sand next to a river mouth but beach sounds much better ;)

It’s 1hr 45min until the lights go out… torch checked and ready, LED light rigged up beside my bed to read by, everything switched off except the fridge (and computer, obviously, for the moment), and my dinner is just about ready… hmm, what have I forgotten?…

No i know what you mean
Yes it’s great for the UK to be winning but does it mean i have to like him or his domination? No, so i don’t.
Although i did think i was going to get murdered this morning for admitting that when i ran into a guy who said “why not the Columbia jersey?” (errm maybe cos i’m not sure i like it and i dont suit yellow) but we got talking and he said how much he loves Cav and asked if i did, my response “No. He’s arrogant, i hate his domination and i hate his voice.”

Okay, if you really want to rehash this...
How to show respect for a race: show up with your game face on, race clean, do your best within your limits. Try to win, don’t just use it as a training race for something you consider more important. Leaving when you’ve done your bit and staying would only use up team resources—like having a domestique or two shepherd you through the mountains instead of helping out the guy who is top 10 in GC—is not, in my opinion, disrespectful.
I can't understand why people cheat--Mark Cavendish

Coverage begins so late? That only covers about an hour or so until the finish. What a pity.
I expect you’re right, he’ll be out of the lead by the time coverage begins, and he’ll be tired.
tds coverage is stingy

He seems to lose close to a minute every 10km or so.
Wonder what sort of climber he is? Certainly his team is happy as the day ends in the Vorarlberg.
this spitze rider is always off the front
he should be in the yellow jersey.
Incroyable! Incroyable! Incroyable!
80K to go, with a 7:00 minute lead.

Ah ok, thanks
Damn, slightly annoyed to see Serrano’s name there. So the last thing that Fuji need or deserve right now.

Please don't say that :(
Just not Capecchi, Kessiakoff or De la Fuente. I can’t handle those 3 cropping up, especially not the first and the last, been following their progress too long. Ugh.
The name that interests me is Astarloza, been the most active of the list.

Fuck i meant Astarloa and NOT active. why cant i type

Astarloa...interesting. Hasn't he already been 'caught' once, like, years ago?
As a small and not very interesting point of interest, I watched on the Alpe last summer with his former school teacher!
Adrenalina Italiana!
I'm sure any Fuji's that are caught will just be hang-over from the Saunier Duval stuff....

That's the thing that scares me, minus Kessiakoff the other 2 migrated from Saunier to Scott to Fuji :/

Indeed, not that that matters really..
People will just say “Ohh they’re all bad, they’re all doping, it used to be Saunier Duval, dirty team.”
They’ll twist it to show that nothing changes.
I’m pretty bummed, really hoped this could be a clean year for them, get em back in some GTs etc.
