Tour de Suisse Stage 5... LIVE!

Suisse-cheese-live_medium

The cheese gets really sharp today, as the TdS ascends two cat-1 climbs in the last 60km, including a final ascent to Serfaus, Austria. The Arlbergspass gets pretty hard over the last 10km, and the last 10km of the race should see plenty of attacks, particularly with such a nice mix of teams, including several rather desperate teams, all bunched in together. Really, if Milram and Fuji don't go all out in Austria, they may as well find another line of work. Should be great fun!

All favorites will be present on the last climb

Most of them will watch each other like hawks.

I predict a sprint to the line of a group of 5-10 riders. Cunego will easily win it.

but I hope you realize this is a hollow victory, much like Montenegro winning the Eurovision thanks to sympathyvotes from Slovenia and Serbia.

So Eurovision conspiracy theories exist in Sweden too

You can hear those every year in Holland and nobody seems to realize that we have just been sending crappy performers with silly songs for the last decade or so.

I'm in England, Grimsby- north-east coast...

Though the beach is technically Cleethorpes. Grimsby and Cleethorpes are basically two places so next to each other they’re the same place. There’s a road where if you stand on one side you’re in Grimsby, but if you stand the other side Cleethorpes. And technically it’s sand next to a river mouth but beach sounds much better ;)

No i know what you mean

Yes it’s great for the UK to be winning but does it mean i have to like him or his domination? No, so i don’t.
Although i did think i was going to get murdered this morning for admitting that when i ran into a guy who said “why not the Columbia jersey?” (errm maybe cos i’m not sure i like it and i dont suit yellow) but we got talking and he said how much he loves Cav and asked if i did, my response “No. He’s arrogant, i hate his domination and i hate his voice.”

Okay, if you really want to rehash this...

How to show respect for a race: show up with your game face on, race clean, do your best within your limits. Try to win, don’t just use it as a training race for something you consider more important. Leaving when you’ve done your bit and staying would only use up team resources—like having a domestique or two shepherd you through the mountains instead of helping out the guy who is top 10 in GC—is not, in my opinion, disrespectful.
