Cervelo unveils new kit for Tour de France
Quote from the Cervelo site:
"We made the design change because racing during the hot summer temperatures that are normal in Europe is hard on the riders," said Thomas Campana, Managing Director, Cervélo TestTeam, "and the lighter colour will provide some relief from the heat."
And yep, you know what that means...

I don't care about the sun
No! No!! A thousand times no!
Staring at the swim team gets you killed by a gang of dancing ninja men who know how to twirl.
Oh c'mon it's not that bad.
And you got to respect the sun. Yea the black looks badass and all, but hell if I’d want to race in it in the summer.
I was hoping for good things
But this seriously looks more dairy cow like than even the Milram kit. Just not ok!!!
You only have to worry
when they start painting little pink udders on the bike
The jersey is also supposed to be more aerodynamic.
Supposedly, the new design will save 10 watts over the usual jerseys.

Article is at the link above. Don't think they say, but maybe if you email someone will clarify.

per second?
watt = joule/s
My dad is a physics teacher so I should know this.

All the time!
Watts is Joules per second (energy per time), it’s the rate of energy lost/saved. If you multiply by time, you get the total energy loss/saving. So per hour, it would be 36 kJ saved, or 8.6 kcal.
Plus Efficiency
If you burn 36 kJ in an hour, you’ve probably also burned around 36 kcal since the body is only around 25% efficient while cycling. Only 8.6 kcal might have been applied to the pedals, but you had to burn closer to 36 kcal in order to accomplish that. It’s not exactly 25%, but that’s a pretty decent estimate to figure calories burned for work done. And the beauty is that it wipes out the math…
So every 3 hours, the new jersey should save them a packet of gel. It’s like they’re printing money over at Cervelo…

If the conductor is wearing white shorts...
… it’s going to piss off a lot of people around here.
I bet you could save more that 10 watts
by not wasting energy listening to excessively silly PR nonsense.
First Columbia domino
I didn’t think it would be Cervelo. Look at that hip/side ab design, it a short way to putting rips in there, then the fake pec’s will come. THR puts muscles on the jersey, and wins all over. Everyone will follow.
That would be sooo cool
as a time trial skinsuit.
Too bad I’d never have the gonads to try it…but I guess I could sublimate some on.
I think the jersey looks good...
Any jersey that doesn’t have muscles is good to me. This jersey alone will lead them to at least 10 stage wins and Carlos will win the G.C. by 20 minutes. ’Tis the power of é
Awwww maaaan?
Why’s it gotta have white shorts? Huh? That jersey looks cool; but the shorts…look a lot like Saunier-Duval last year with the little swoopy thing at the crotchial region.
When will they learn? (she says, shaking her head...)
The jersey would be nice with the appropriate leg wear.
Adrenalina Italiana!
It's a Castelli thing
Same sponsor.
I recently had a woman ride up to me panting and laughing. She said she had to get close enough to see if I was wearing panties over my bibs as a joke… I did not find it funny, but after I looked at my backside I could mos def see what she was talking about…
So, I have a gently used pair of Blue/Black Castelli bibs for sale if anyone is interested.
If you don't have time to do it right the first time, when are you going to have time to do it again?

white-black-red bikes
white jersey
black details
which leaves the shorts which should then be……………………….?
majope, you know the answer here, right?
Works for me.
Although oddly, even before this story hit, I’d already decided that because of the summer heat my Tour-only team is going to be named Team White Shorts.
I can't understand why people cheat--Mark Cavendish
we know red shorts can also be less than discrete
but they don’t show mud as badly, at least.
But hey, they can always artfully drape a hand for photo ops and provide some blocking / shadows (as in the example above) if they’re shy.
Those of you who prefer Cervelos spring collection
can enjoy it the new episode of their documentary “Beyond The Peloton” – Flanders.
I really like the white jersey actually
the white shorts? Massive fail, but the two combined I can live with.
My first reaction?
Moo.
Seriously, it’s just not that far removed from Milram.

Imagine if they rode past a dairy farm in the TOur
You would probably lose the Cervelo riders in the background since they blend in so much!
I like it
white shorts and all. All you white shorts haters can something something something
More Muur...
I won't even post a link
But if anyone wants an example of hot white cow cycling bib shorts then just visit the assos.com store (candy for everyone). Or maybe it’s just the models …….

Oh please Will, with all the hottitude threads we have to endure around here.
I’ll put it up.

OK maybe in looking at the wrong spot
But what is going on in the crotch area?? Why is there a two hill shape and not a full moon, if you get what i’m saying… It sort of looks weird..
