CyclingTV has posted the following on their Innertube message board today:

Giro d'Italia compensation

Dear Customers,

If you purchased one of the two packages that were to include the Giro d'Italia (Gold North America and Giro d'Italia/Italian Pro Cycling) you are eligible for compensation as a result of Cycling TV being unable to secure the rights to the event.

Please contact Customer Services for compensation at the address cyclingtv@jumptv.com

Thank you

they do know that

a date with ROLD isn’t really “compensation”, right?

Hehe - but I think there'd

be a stampede of takers for a date with girbecca rebecca if that was the compensation on offer.

yeah I'll second that,

she is fine. I don’t mean to be vulgar or anything, but damn.

Just because it's fun to be mean to CTV

They know who have signed up to packages that include the Giro right? They also have peoples accountnumbers (since they seem more than happy to autorenew) right?

Why don’t they just repay the money without people having to contact them?

You’ve mastered the idiom!

Great thinking Jens

Next you’ll be saying that everyone should get universal healthcare. Sheesh.

"I didn't look for him and I didn't see him. If you base your race on another rider, most of the time you lose."

Some say 'let sleeping dogs lie'

I say ‘dig them up, tar and feather ’em, and then beat ’em real good’!!!

Just received a reply

to my note to CTV regarding compensation. Their solution seems to be a free quarterly susbscription beginning at the end of my current yearly subscription. Note that it is a Premium sub, and does not include the Giro however. Too funny!! It IS and attempt on their part nonetheless…..

Dear John,

Firstly we apologize for not providing you with an immediate solution to the
Giro compensation, and thank you for your patience under the circumstances.

We are sure you can appreciate that because of our multiple packages, we have
looked at various options in providing the fairest solution to each respective
customer.

If you have purchased a Gold North America Annual package (which contains the
Giro) we would like to offer you a free Premium Quarterly extension at end of
your subscription period (this is worth $33.99, $4 more than Italian Pro
Cycling package, and contains our top races outside of Giro and Vuelta,
including the Spring Classics, One Day Classics, and major Tours).

We hope this is a satisfactory solution under the circumstances and apologize
again for any inconvenience.

Despite the disappointment in not carrying the Giro this year we would like to
highlight the fact that we have a great calendar of races lined up for rest of
the year from June, including:

Dauphine Libere
Tour de Suisse
Tour de France (highlights)
Vuelta A Espana
Paris Tours
Clasica de San Sebastian

Best regards,
Aric

nice

They are giving you a “free quarter” of something you will already be receiving if you extend your Gold NA subscription.
