They started early today for the longest day of the Tour de Lux—187 km, from Schifflange to Differdange. A single rider, Cyrille HEYMANS (CCD) currently has an advantage of 3:50 over the Astana-led peloton.

My best friend had a nasty smash a couple of weeks ago...

…car pulled out in front of him and he cleared the bonnet by a good metre, somehow surviving with only a few scratches and a swollen hand. But he wrote his bike off totally, frame cracked through in two places. He was FAR more bothered about that!

I'm American too but I never had it before I came over here

Haselnuts aren’t exactly an American favorite, not like peanuts. There’s this other stuff that the Dutch members here would know about, it’s call Speculoos (sp?). It’s made from ground up Specula cookies and something else. Looks like peanut butter but ridiculously sweet, good stuff.

Well, they're hardly unknown.

Frangelico is a popular liqueur and Ferrero Rocher chocolates are everywhere. Also, any place that sells flavored coffee virtually always has hazelnut. And even Nutella is in most supermarkets, and is a favorite among runners and cyclists.

Sure, hazelnuts aren’t as popular as peanuts, but they’ve had a much shorter history here.

But it just occurred to me why the peloton has been going so slow…with all these king of the mountain points, there must be a lot of descending on the other side. Saxo probably kept the speed of the group down in an effort to keep Frank alive.

A frozen 'cross ride from this last weekend. As you may be aware we have had siberian conditions here in the UK with a low of -14 degrees centigrade here on saturday morning. It was a beautiful sunny morning so i layered up and set off for a snowy 'cross ride along a roman road. I checked the thermometer when i got back to find it had been -10 throughout the ride! I had a lot of fun though and the views were spectacular.
