Philly: Team Presentation Photos
The team presentations for the TD Bank Philadelphia International Cycling Championship (men's race) and Liberty Classic (women's race) took place today. This was, apparently, something of a secret - I only found out as the result of a random email, and by the number of teams (and riders on teams) that showed up, it wasn't exactly common knowledge that it was happening even within the race. In any event, hit the flip to see some of the folks that will bring us the action tomorrow.

Liquigas thought it looked fun.
Afterwards, some of the riders decided they'd rather hang around the race expo than go back to their rooms (real pro rider quote, via Megabeth: "They don't even have MTV!"). Seems like a great idea before race day, no?

Balance work, maybe?

And that's it for now.
Went out for a ride on the course just after this. Against experience (and Ed K’s advice), I rolled down Kelly Drive (full of traffic), as I had a chance to follow behind a few women from Jittery Joe’s/Texas Roadhouse out for a slow roll to check out the course. Ended up riding the full thing, including Manayunk. It’s not as hard as I’d expected, but it’s not something I’d really want to hit at competitive speeds. The descent from there is a good bit of fun, though.

Will be out and about tomorrow (still looking for you, Softie). Not expecting to get many (if any) photos up immediately after the race. But aiming to deliver as soon after that as I can.

I sorta like Rock Racing's black kit
But the white one is fugly.
I had to check the start list to see who the Swedish riders are, and it seems to be the C-team. (B-team if you’re kind.) But that’s OK, since the Swedish national teams actually comes from the Netherlands. And the Danish national team comes from USA.

Indeed. The red bits make it look like they've been shot in several places.
