This is unfair, clearly this job posting -

You will play an important role in the success and development of our projects thanks to your competence, commitment and excellent interpersonal skills.

- is written for Hinault.

Agreed - but

Needs excellent English and French. If Mr H has excellent English he is keeping it a secret!

French bastards

Hinault speaks English pretty well. Met him at a convention once. In spite of my best French, he answered in English :( Have you ever heard Chirac talk English? I hadn’t either until recently when I saw a documentary with this clip: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rm2P90zqe08

happens all the time

On one hand, I’m in total sync with the annoyance at the world thinking you should default to english. On the other hand, pretending you don’t speak english when you do is pretty close to lying. Super lame.

hehe

Chirac spent some time in the U.S. during his student days, in Boston I think. I agree about pretending one doesn’t speak English…but then there’s the case of John Kerry, who speaks French, but who stopped answering questions from French reporters (unless they asked in English) at some point in his 2004 campaign, because he didn’t want Americans associating him with France!

Group project here.

We decide on a candidate, fake the resume, provide glowing references. Said candidate gets job, sells all UCI TV rights to the first company that agrees to provide free internet feeds to all races, with none of that pesky geo-restriction. Once the contracts are ironclad, employee disappears into the night (preferably with a handful of UCI ID badges and some letterhead stationery—you never know what might come in handy). Champagne flows at PdC.

Long day--bad grammar. That's the way it works.--Lance Armstrong

Well, you're doing way better than I am.

I stick to reading it whenever possible, for everyone’s benefit.

A frozen 'cross ride from this last weekend. As you may be aware we have had siberian conditions here in the UK with a low of -14 degrees centigrade here on saturday morning. It was a beautiful sunny morning so i layered up and set off for a snowy 'cross ride along a roman road. I checked the thermometer when i got back to find it had been -10 throughout the ride! I had a lot of fun though and the views were spectacular.
