Look who just arrived in Monaco!

L'affaire Boonen sera examinée aujourd'hui par la Chambre arbitrale du Comité olympique français, qui se prononcera immédiatement et de manière définitive. Le Belge est interdit de Tour de France pour un contrôle positif à la cocaïne.

...which works out to "Boonen's case will be examined today by the French Olympic Committee, which will immediately make a definitive ruling. The Belgian has been blocked from the Tour due to a positive test for blow."

He moved back to Belgium to be with his girlfriend and try and stay out of trouble
But yeah he did..

Am I the only one
Who wants to see his team mate “Alby” get a start instead?

I'm sure there are others...
and Alby was at the Giro and wasn’t half bad with one second place and 2 thirds. But you have to go back to the comment: would you rather want " a guy whose doping was detailed in Puerto or a guy who got busted for coke twice out of competition." I don’t really care who start…Alby is on my VDS but I have too much love for Boonen.

He'll have a lot of aggro
if he is allowed to ride. I think he’s capable of a “Theo Bos” under these circumstances.
That reminds me, wasn’t Theo up for an UCI hearing this week?

Theo Bos decision will be long delayed
as the court will need to read and re-read the PdC thread(s) on the topic many times before making an informed decision.

I think nobody will ever here from this case again
All for the better if you ask me.

Boonen
is one of my favorite riders, and the idea that he would bring the tour into disrepute by riding is ridiculous. As if the Tours reputation was all that stellar in the first place. Anyway, no media will pay attention to Tommeke with HWMNBN back in the peloton.

+1 I agree!
People love Boonen. He is the nicest guy, so good to his supporters and the sport. This whole line of crap about bring shame to the Tour is all politics! He has done so much good for this sport it really pisses me off. Oh well. I really need to face the fact that he will not be riding the Tour, again.

Actually it is just a new bike for him...
he had it at the Belgian championships

It sounds like just 3 of them
got the new bikes. Didn’t realize he had it for the championships.

witch-hunt
I love that photo! Is that the face of a pedophile (statutory rapist), drug dealin’ outlaw? More like a kid whose parents let him fly by himself for the first time.

Well
Only because I feel compelled to fight back against the insanity that has gripped my dear old England on the matter will I point out that “pedophile” is a batshit insane label, here. Banging a 16 year old? Creepy bordering (perhaps more than) troubling. Pedophile? Let’s put away the pitchforks.

to be clear
I cant tell from your reply…so to be clear, my post speaks out against the bearers of the pitchforks with which you speak. He had a relationship with a 16 (going on 26) year old girlfriend that violated no statutary laws. I offer no more creedence to the notion that he was the coke connection to the peloton than I do the assertion that he’s guilty of statutory rape.

Even in England that would be legal
unless he tried to take a photo. Or they shared a cigarette afterwards.
