Fedrigo has sent me soaring to 297...

Rather pleased with myself for picking Nocentini in the Tour only VDS…may he keep the jersey for DAYS to come :-)

Bah. Two days without a point.

I’m back at 100th place.

At least I’m still ahead of ursula.

Every person I've turned onto this place

(hi Peej, Bruyere, Megabeth . . .) is beating me. Soundly.

If it makes you feel better you are, today, one place ahead of me at 99th.

By 2 fricking points.

But thanks to two Cavendish wins, this is no longer true.

I love to come here to race and I love to be here, and for sure, I'm going to get arsey at some riders because I'm an arsehole, but it's irrelevant of nationality, and it's irrelevant of anything else. Like I said, I'm an arsehole--Mark Cavendish, refuting charges that he's a racist

In fairness to Sui

I should point out I am the ’d’oh!’ person who picked Cunego, because I did my entire pick sight unseen and had no idea he was off the roster. (I picked Cunego because of his last name, which phonetically translates in Farsi to something that amuses my inner 8 year old to no end). So, I guess Sui doesn’t come off looking so badly…
…except, wait, that means I am beating him soundly with only 9 riders. Ha ha, nevermind.

Best. Stage. Ever.

Cav, Hushovd, Farrar and Duque all came through for me!

I keep thinking that with 6 of these guys I should be doing better

then I remember I’ve got 9 riders who have yet to score a single point. But when they do—oh yes, then my brilliance will be made known to the world! Mwa-ha-ha.

What helps me, to the extent that I'm doing ok...

…is having 4 of the top 10.

Not having any of the others isn’t helping so much.

Links Go To Same Sheet

It looks like both links at the top of the thread go to the Stage-By-Stage sheet.

Thanks for keeping track of all these. Instant VDS Gratification is the way to go…

Unneeded question ahead.

Will extra points be awarded to who ever is declared the Next French Hope for Winning le Tour?

Sure!

A bazillion bonus points when they actually win it.

So how are people's teams doing so far?

My year-long team has 554 so far, mostly thanks to Cav (437), but with help from GHH (80), Ciolek (30), and Schlecklet (7). Not spectacular but not losing ground.

Tour-only: 244. Seven riders have scored so far, but the best is 155 (Farrar). Maybe next week…

Sad le Sores (TdF only)

885 for me! In addition to the Cav/Contador combo, I also have T. Voeckler and R. Nocentini…pleasant surprises both.

I don’t want to think about year long ;-(

by swells on Jul 17, 2009 7:49 PM EDT up reply actions

Lets see...I am at 637 so far with the...

year long-team. They really took off this week with 3 different guys getting stage wins (Fedrigo, LuLu and HH) also with Hushovd and Contador (well he will be…) as the big point getters….Others that have scored include Kreuz, Ciolek, Jens and Zabriskie…I just need Hushovd to nab that green jersey and I will be set.

My Tour-only team…well I think that just needs to be pushed into a dark corner, never to see the light of day again…

by Vlaanderen90 on Jul 18, 2009 12:32 AM EDT up reply actions

tour only -don't even want to look

year long, 693 – Cav mainly, then Conta and Voekler, then Kloden, Duque, Z, Andy, Jens!

by yeehoo on Jul 18, 2009 6:30 AM EDT up reply actions

Tour-only

714. Mainly Cavendish and Farrar.

Although nice to have Roulston chipping in today.

by Mark T1979 on Jul 18, 2009 6:35 PM EDT reply actions

34 points!!!

Ouch.

I guess Gesink, Sastre, Evans, Coppel, Jens!, F Schleck, Gerdemann, etc ….. were not the best picks.

On a brighter note, I did read that Sui Juris has disbanded his VDS team ;)

As a wise fawn once said

There’s always tomorrow for dreams to come true. So buck up—you still have 3 likely top 10 finishers, which should net you some nice end of Tour points.
