Tour Only VDS: 27 Hours To Go
Just a reminder. Of what, you ask? Go here and ye shall be enlightened.
Reminder: Use the tourbecco@yahoo.com address for submissions. Not the usual PdC[at]Yahoo.
Also, there are some last minute substitutions afoot, like Dan Martin's withdrawal for an injury (Martijn Maaskant, anyone?). And of course the Boonen/Davis saga hangs in the balance.

The DC Field Office
is waiting for beer to arrive before making selections (holiday weekend starts in a few hours). There may well be a live team presentation involved. Still working on the rights.
What's with DiGregorio?
He was announced for le Tour, but I can’t find him on any of the starting lists…
Ô col Bayard, Ô Tourmalet, à côté du Galibier, vous êtes de la pale et vulgaire bibine !
He was never announced for the Tour
He was one of two -Joly being the other-who their team decided on after the national Championships. They picked Joly and DiGregorio is staying home.
no Rui Costa?

I get paid to make other people suffer on my wheel, that's good." Jens!
Only went with a cheap sprinter
Definitely GC heavy as that is where the points are. Take a shot at getting the winner plus a podium guy and go with a cheap sprinter, i.e. Farrar, who will get some points for high stage finishes and potentially a stage win.
Team Bikery
Pulling for Bert, Evans and Andy. Hoping Wiggo or Grabsch can win the opening TT and hold the jersey for like 6 or 7 stages.
Team Aprés nous le dèluge
Passed the line within the time cut too. Half of my team is French so this really can’t go wrong.
"Where there’s a will, there’s a way.": Alberto Contador, shortly after waking up from brain surgery.
Got a pretty solid team
Should be able to take the lead after Stage One, as I did after the Prologue 2 years ago, and hopefully keep a solid lead/standing for most of the Tour. Picked a cheap sprinter who should do fairly well, a few middling/potential contender GC guys, and a few stage hunters, along with a metric fuckton of good time trialists (stage 1 and stage 4 are hopefully going to catapult my team up to the top, which is my goal).
