Wiggins is another--both will be top 5 in ITT and TTT

I can't understand why people cheat--Mark Cavendish

by majope on Jul 2, 2009 8:58 PM EDT up reply actions

Let's see

Grabsch wil possibly get points on three stages. He might share the TTT win and get say 4th’s on the other two.

Klodo has a lot more sprinter stages to get 3rd and 4ths and 5ths.

I’ll take Klodo over Grabsch.

by ursula on Jul 2, 2009 8:59 PM EDT up reply actions

Yeah, but the sprinters include

Cav, Hushovd, Freire, Farrar, Haussler, Renshaw, Davis (or maybe Boonen)…is Klodo really going to sneak in the top 5?

I can't understand why people cheat--Mark Cavendish

by majope on Jul 2, 2009 9:01 PM EDT up reply actions

I'll say he'll sneak into a top five placing on 3 stages.

I mean outside of Cav no one else there is assured all the time of a top placing. Klodo is not bad at all. 6th at Gent-Wevelgem, 3rd on a stage at Romandie. 3rd at a T-A stage. Sure he’;s not grreat but he’s better than the D-list sprinters like Hinault or Seb Chavanel.

As for Wiggins and Grabsch. They will not place top 5 at stage 1. Guaranteed. Besides Cancellara winning, the course sets up too well for the GC guys with that climb. Hell Contador could beat Wiggins on a flat course. Bert, Evans, Levi, Menchov, Kirchen, Kloden, Kreuziger, etc. etc.: too much competition there.
On the TTT stage they just share in the points.
The final TT stage they, especially Grabsch, should do well, but not win.

So ultimately Grabsch, Wiggins, and Klodo will all be scraping for points. All are probably equally good for those table scraps.

Then again, we both picked Dekker…

A frozen 'cross ride from this last weekend. As you may be aware we have had siberian conditions here in the UK with a low of -14 degrees centigrade here on saturday morning. It was a beautiful sunny morning so i layered up and set off for a snowy 'cross ride along a roman road. I checked the thermometer when i got back to find it had been -10 throughout the ride! I had a lot of fun though and the views were spectacular.
