"I told [Lance] on the final of the Colombiere to go away from Wiggins so in the end we could be 1-2-3. But in the end you can’t want it all. Our purpose is to win the Tour and we got a big step forward today. If we want everything we can end up with nothing and that’s not what we want. Second and third are not a goal. If it happens that’s ok but we don’t go after it. Winning the Tour is the goal."

Bruyneel, sorry

I’d never done these fanshot things before, I thought the link would show up and everything. Anyway, it’s more of the quote instead of just the “we could have been 1-2-3” clip which is being used in all the major recaps of the day.

Have people seen the Lance interview post race

sorry but …..

When asked about AC’s attack (near top of Colomviere) … he cringed, made a face, and said something like " i am going to bite my tongue on that one"

Awful …. as I often say, … I am a (former?) LA fan boy. But he has been an ass re: Ac this entire tour. He didn’t even fake any Team support during the interview. There were no language issue … it was in english.

Yes, he is quite the charmer.

It’s actually refreshing to see him come right out and spew his venom for the world to see. You’re right, there is no language issue, and no amount of PR is going to erase the way he is coming across in this Tour.

If you think he seems like an an ass in this interview, check out this one translated from El Pais (compliments to BTD).

Most people still don't see it tho'

The Dugard book really exposed Lance, but I agree he’s reached a new low. Twitter has allowed him even more control over his exposure.
I mean what was Bert to do, Klodi said “I can go” when he couldn’t. Bert saw him pop, waited and then had to go with the Schlecks. I didn’t see Lance wait for Klodi in the runup to the line. And this was after Kloden dragged Lance to the finish on Verbier. Its always about Lance.
Its always about Lance. What i can’t figure out is aside from star power, why do people like Hincapie and Leipheimer hang with his guy? Surely they know the real Lance and yet? Did anybody really think that Lance was going to let Levi win the tour? If you listened to him the first week you might have thought so. I hope Levi wasn’t buying it. At least Bert has the toughness to resist.
I’ve always appreciated his cycling, mental toughness, etc. but the vindictive Lance aint pretty.
Sorry so long, but I feel much better now.

PS: I hope AC goes to a super strong team (like a Garmin) and not a project in the works like Cervelo.

I know where you are coming from

I almost most named my 1st son after him. Then my eyes opened up after the Equipe bombshell.

He does have some redeaming qualities, and he’s a complicated person, but overall, “I think I’ll bite my tongue and hold off on that one…”
