Lance Armstrong's New Team Sponsor?
Hi everyone!
There has been a lot of talk about who the new American team sponsor that Lance Armstrong mentioned will be. On his twitter account Lance said he'd announce it tomorrow. ( I'm not sure what time though.) I've been excited at some names being mentioned, but on my usual rounds tonight I found out that Cyclingfans.com seem to feel they have the new sponsor figured out.

Interesting. Not sure I like RS though.
What does everyone else think?

Radio Shack
makes perfect sense.
I would assume this is a done deal, as Cyclingfans mentioned the domain name, teamradioshack.com, has been registered by the company owned by Armstrong’s agent.
I could really care less who stepped in, but I really hope that Bert doesn’t get sucked into their team. I want to see he and Lance go head to head without any team politics coming into play, but I have this awful feeling JB will do anything in his power ($$$) to keep Alberto around. Keep your enemies close…
Ah the real reason
for campaigning against the race radio ban emerges!
Well the off-season should be less painful
because transfer season in cycling is actually going to be exciting this year, or so it looks like.
Vamos Alberto!!!(Contador not Ricco)
Eh
I’d imagine you wouldn’t even want a ProTour license at this point. The “advantages” over ProConti status are slightly higher costs and the requirement to hire a few more riders—-I think you could get all of the invites you need with a GT stud and a bona fide (or Belgian) classicist. Then just announce that your superdomestique will ride the Ardennes, and you’re go.
wow, that's fast after the stage finish...

Radio Shacks
do pretty shitty, at least here in the Southeast bigger/newer chains seem to do much better…
I’m suprised they have the money to drop at this point in time.
Agree
That was my first thought – they have been closing stores in my area. I thought places like Best Buy and Wal-Mart were killing them. Can somebody say if they have a presence outside the US? The appeal of sponsoring Lance is that he is a worldwide figure.
LOL!
Well, at least it’s not Charmin toilet paper.
Team Radio Shack web site is live
Team Radio Shack
Looks pretty well confirmed.

Uhmmm...
Team Radioshack? OK, I have some quibbles when it comes to the word “shack”, does it have another meaning as well or do they want me to compare them to a little worn down house?

OK
Now I will try to get rid of that horrible B-52’s song that is stuck in my head.
