MY OPINION ON THE TOUR DE FRANCE
The Favourites
Cadel Evans though a strong rider does not have the depth in his team. His team has gone through three stages in the past three years the first stage was the team working for Robbie Mcewen and Evans. 2. Evans Mcewen in the team and in 2009 Evans. However the team is still unripened and Evans won't succeed.
Lance Armstrong or 'The Boss' Is trying to win an 8th Tour de France title.
Do I think he can win? At 37 years old and in the best team in the world he can I will admit the truth he can. Except for the fact that this man is on the same team
Alberto Contador is the worlds best grand tour rider in the space of fourteen months he won the Giro, Tour and Vuelta. Assuming he is the undisputed leader of Astana he will not be stopped. In 2007 his weakness was his time trialling but he has now turned into one of the worlds best time-triallists.
Carlos Sastre Last years winner does not have the team he had last year and that will prevent his victory as well as being one of the older riders in the peleton.
Andy Schleck If not for a hunger knock Andy Schleck could have won last years tour the strongest rider in the alps The hunger knock affected his chances
My Tips
5. Lance Armstrong
4. Carlos Sastre
3. Cadel Evans
2.Andy Schleck
1.Alberto Contador

Hey! Welcome James. I see from your profile that you joined up Podium Cafe today.
I also see that you are 12 years old. Nice to have a kid around. Thanks for the post. I agree with your list except that I think Levi will be in the top 5 so someone will move down a notch. What do you think about Gesink’s chances?
Oh yeah, I voted for Alberto.
Experts
yep, you’re right about the ol’ hunger knock James, sure can affect one’s chances

nice sentiment, but...
…it’s not like all of the 100s of other threads on this site are blocked to non-adults. Know what I mean?

Maybe the reason he's participating is the 100's of other threads. ;p
If Jens! Voigt was a planet, he' be the "World of Hurt"
good call.

Nice going on the Dandenong ride – and congrats on chosening the best sport in the world! So, how do you feel about the Aussie chances this year?

Being World TT Champion 3 times is experienced enough.
I’m thinking you are trying to say, not fit enough after illness, Yes?? But he is over the illness, but did crash yesterday during training, and has a sore hip.

ok, but not too hard if you don't mind
The MR was supposed to be subliminal, ended up appearing less so. So, CG, ever done Mt. Dandenong’s TT?
We are keeping this post clean aren't we, But remember i don't do things by halves ;-)
No I haven’t, Apart from Brisbane, only other place i’ve ridden is Belgium.. I’m a newbie remember, when it comes to riding..

just think though
You’ll be able to one day make the claim that you cut your teeth (so to speak) on the Mur, Kpnbrg, etc! How many riders can make that claim?
LoL, well yes I'm going to beat "The Mur" & "Kpnbrg" next time.. hehe

Welcome James!
You clearly know a thing or two about the sport. I don’t agree about Lance, but just about everything else you said sounds right to me. I think Menchov gets in the top five, maybe even third.

Lance
The reason for that place instead of Menchov is because Menchov is tired and Lance will be a super Domistique for Contador in the mountains so he will always be up there like Schleck last year
yeah
I thought about that. He won the Vuelta two years ago after doing the Tour, so he can do two grand tours. But the Vuelta was a lot less challenging than the Tour. Anyway, he’s a tough dude.

Just so you know, Chris kind of runs this place. You might want to not make him look so bad in the future. He has magic powers. :)

Also, JSallee
is way nicer than the rest of us. If you want to embarrass Chris up and down the block? We will cheer you on.
Sort of
I’m not sayin he is a bad rider to grand tours show that but think about the time trial being caught a minute 30
How is Cadel going to finish ahead of Sastre?
I think he will have the same problem as last year only worse. Not enough TT kms to make up what he loses in the mountains.
