Avant de participer à son premier Tour de France, Lloyd Mondory n’a pas mâché ses mots envers les formations Saxo Bank et Columbia. Le coureur d’AG2R-La Mondiale se dit "écœuré de voir “renaître de ses cendres” Fabien Cancellara sur le dernier Tour de Suisse. Lloyd Mondory n’est également tendre avec Fränk Schleck : “Je courais contre lui en junior, quand il était dans l’équipe de Châteauroux. Je le valais. Après on progresse tous différemment. Mais par rapport à lui, je n’ai pas du tout progressé (rires) !” affirme-t-il, avant de rappeler que Fränk Schleck n’a plus rien à faire sur un vélo s’il est prouvé qu’il a fait un chèque de 7000 euros au Docteur Fuentes.
Sur le Tour de Suisse, le comportement de l’équipe Columbia, qui a enregistré sept victoires d’étape, a également interpellé Mondory. “C’est dégueulasse. Après, on dit que tout va bien dans le vélo. Mais ça, c’est écœurant. Il y a des choses qui paraissent trop grosses pour qu’on ait envie d’y croire” conclut celui que certaines équipes ne laisseront peut-être plus partir dans une échappée pendant les trois semaines du Tour…
