Remind me again what I should be yelling at the TV?

So I have noticed that here at the Cafe we have many wonderfully multilingual people, who help to translate foreign news stories and do other cool stuff (<-- i couldn't think of anything else as I typed but I'm sure you get the idea.) And now I would like to request their help with a little dilemma I (and maybe some others) have...

Oh wise and and wonderful PdC members who are much more wise and wonderful than me, please tell me what I should be yelling / muttering at the TV as I follow the Tour in the wee hours of the morning.

Star-divide

Because I just *know* the riders can hear me and my demands/encouragements/threats and it would be a whole lot better if I could utter my demands/encouragements/threats in their mother tongue.

Tips on pronunciation would also help muchly, for those as challenged as myself when it comes to languages.

Merci, Danke and Thankyou in advance (look at that, three languages!)

I'll get you started with some scandinavian

Danish
Cur doh! fur fan-den din fur-band-edde dan-skeh skid-de-wreuw! - Ride dammit you bloody danish (equivalent of bastard/asshole)!

Norwegian
La de vair-e. Cavendish aer a-lee-ge-vell houh-tigger. – Don’t bother. Cavendish is faster anyway

also being language challenged myself

I would recommend watching old tour stages and focusing on the DS in the car shots – particularly johan as he speaks like 20 languages. That will also inspire you as to the appropriate level of passion in the delivery of said encouragement!

Is the Udo Bölts quote off limit?

Staring at the swim team gets you killed by a gang of dancing ninja men who know how to twirl.

My personal favorite is

“Repent, bitches!”

Oh. Wait.

Wrong forum.

Sorta.

Vai! Venga! Allez!

except that

“Vai” very often sounds like “Die”—which has puzzled my almost 6-year-old on occasion: “Why are they telling him to die, Dad?”

Don't they also yell "dai"?

According to online dictionaries, it’s an interjection meaning “Come on!”

Among his many talents, Mark Cavendish can make it rain in Southern California--Chris Jones, ESPN Magazine

yeah doesn’t it just mean “give” in Italian, i.e. “give ’er”? In Spanish they yell “dale dale!” which is beautiful since it’s an almost exact translation of “give ’er”

yep, it sounds like "dai!" because it is "dai!"

You hear “dai” far more than “vai” in my experience.

“dai” imperative of “dare” – to give, but “come on!” translates it fine.

Swiss Germans

always yell: Hop Hop Hop! (so you can use this for Fabian)

sometimes life is a false flat

I often find myself yelling

“Schnell!”… regardless of the rider’s nationality.

If obscenity is required, though, the language is definitely English for me. Odd that… I can swear in a number of languages (I went to a very multi-cultural high school).
