Oh, I know it won't happen,

but it strikes me as a diabolical plot to send Leipheimer in the early break—or as the first attacker.

I don't really want him in yellow yet but I said Bert

I do believe he wants to test Lance, and get ahead of him on time. That will lead him to attack and he may not win the stage but the guys who can follow are too far back to get yellow.

Seems to me that if Bert can (and for sure he can)

he has to go for it, if for no other reason than to chill out the whole LA vibe a bit.

I have to say I'm all for Bert.

I will also note that it is some what intriguing to see Lance actually on the front working, unlike years past where he rode 3rd or 4th wheel and everyone else pulled. I will be interested from the viewpoint of the competition to see if he still climbs like he did. I really want to see the new generation get their shot though.

Well as usual, I went Frank schleck..

But wish I could have had multiple options, andy and fabian sound good, and I would like to see too…..

lance!

i don’t really believe it but a girl can hope, can’t she?

None of the above

Given this list, I’ll bet the field. I don’t think any of the bigs escape, but I think someone lower in the standings is allowed to go. Pellizotti is possible, though he may be too high in the standings to get away. Maybe a quixotic ride by the likes of Dessel or Moncoutie?

hey, Klodi isnt a domestique yet...

I think hes been sandbagging all spring and is peaking.

What, no love for Rogers?!

it’s all a trick, the crashing today and the loosing of 12 minutes….umm is he still in it?

Armstrong gets yellow.

He stays with Cancellara til the final 300 meters and zooms away for the yellow.

I'm not so sure.

I am not convinced that LA would have any wish to take yellow off Tony at this point in time. I think that Tuesday was his chance for the moment… can’t see LA wanting Tony’s cast-off’s now. “LA finally takes yellow, having been a quarter of a second behind Cancellara for three days”… y’know what I mean?

Lance Back In Yellow For First Time Since 2005

I think he’d go for that headline.

Contador

The LA/Bruyneel blueprint says to take time on the first mountain stage. Bert’s their GC guy. If he can dominate like LA did, he’ll scare everybody into riding for lesser podium spots. Then, Astana will have help later in the Tour.

As someone said yesterday...

‘everys stage has been exciting’…in order for this to continue, and I really hope it does, we have to hope, for our own viewing pleasure, that Bert doesn’t do his thing, because, I fear, if he does….well, so long excitement…enter boring team tactics.

Bah....Cavendish?!

by bradBordeaux on Jul 10, 2009 3:40 AM EDT reply actions

What Astana should do is just TTT up the mountain

But I don’t think the 4 Astana musketeer are quite “One for All, All for One” enough for that.

I say Contador attacks. Armstrong in yellow isn’t a good outcome for him

A frozen 'cross ride from this last weekend. As you may be aware we have had siberian conditions here in the UK with a low of -14 degrees centigrade here on saturday morning. It was a beautiful sunny morning so i layered up and set off for a snowy 'cross ride along a roman road. I checked the thermometer when i got back to find it had been -10 throughout the ride! I had a lot of fun though and the views were spectacular.
