Tour du Limousin Stage 3 LIVE
Yes, it's that time again! Come join in the discussion as I act like a ticker, except a very random one for this third stage. Today sees riders going from St Martin de Jussac to St Junien and the stage is 189.6kms. The stage profile? Well I'll just paste it below!
Join the discussion after the jump! Or err, maybe there won't be discussion but you can read the updates!

Morning! So we're already underway! Only just though :)
It’s sunny with some clouds and temperatures are already hot, expected to get hotter, already around 31-32 degrees c, so a little cooler than yesterday for the boys out there.
As soon as the flag went down Mickaël Damiens (Meitan Hompo), Yannick Talabardon (Besson) and Dominik Roels (Milram) tried to get away but the peloton brought them back in quickly.
Then a group of 20 riders or so tried to go and got themselves a small gap, around 20 seconds. Some big names in there, the yellow jersey of Samuel Dumoulin but also Romain Feillu, Anthony Charteau and Amaël Moinard!
With 183km to go it seems pretty unsettled and the situation keeps changing but currently at the front it’s Samuel Dumoulin (Cofidis )with Matthieu Ladagnous (FDJ) and Pierrick Fedrigo (Bbox) and then a 15 second gap back to Ardilla (Rabobank) and then a bunch of riders including B. Feillu (Agritubel) at 20 seconds, but it’s pretty scrappy…

175km to go
Some teams who hadn’t made the break have decided enough is enough and that everyone needs to relax, so they’ve pulled it back in and everything is together, gruppo compacto.
This morning the Cofidis DS, Francis Von Londersele, said the team’s objective had been completed with Dumoulin winning yesterday and they probably won’t worry too much about controlling this. I think they’re hoping other teams will instead.

166km to go, more attacks!
Anthony Roux (FDJ), Vasil Kiryienka (Caisse d’Epargne) and Shinichi Fukushima (Meitan Hompo) have a small gap over a chasing trio of Pierre Rolland (BBox), Laurent Mangel (Besson) and Dominik Roels (Milram) and a small gap on the peloton. This move could be allowed to go…

More riders bridged to this group to make it a 10 man escape..
Anthony Roux (FDJ), Vasil Kiryienka (Caisse d’Epargne), Shinichi Fukushima (Meitan Hompo), Paul Martens (Rabobank), Anthony Charteau (Caisse d’Epargne), Christian Meier (Garmin), Nicolas Hartmann (Brittany Schuller) Ludovic Turpin (AG2R) and Yury Trofimov (BBox).
BUT Cofidis are feeling like work and have neutralised it, the maximum time the 10 got was around 15 seconds. These Cofidis boys are picky today. Then again Martens and Charteau are both on the top 10 in GC so it’s understandable..
"When he accelerates, he's like Superman emerging from the telephone booth!" La Gazzetta journo Paolo Condo talking about Edvald Boasson Hagen.
It's going to be one of those days...
Another escape tried to go, four riders, no word on who, but once again within 3km of it forming it was neutralised.

No problem!

Still no decisive moves yet!
Charteau keeps trying! And Duque (Cofidis) has also tried as well as many riders, but nope, peloton just keeps bringing them back
"When he accelerates, he's like Superman emerging from the telephone booth!" La Gazzetta journo Paolo Condo talking about Edvald Boasson Hagen.
154km to go, could we finally have ourselves a breakaway?
Probably not, but some riders are on the attack and have at least a small gap, currently around 19 seconds.
The attackers are David Arroyo (Caisse d’Epargne), Amaël Moinard (Cofidis), Ignat Konovalova (Cervelo), Michael Friedman (Garmin), Cyril Gautier (BBox), Florian Guillou (Roubaix-LM) and Arnaud Gerard (FDJ) and they’re being chased by Stéphane Goubert (AG2R), Sebastien Chavanel (FDJ) and Paul Martens (Rabobank).
Paul Martens is trying? Yep, it has fail written on all over it, he’s 5th on GC

I know...remind us where you are on the list again?! ;-)

I just read it, interesting for sure
Can’t say I blame him, he wants to be in a more French environment, try something new and he doesn’t really get that chance at Cd’E :) Good luck to him!

I did read this on Thomas Frei's face book - Interesting..
Facebook person asked thomas – There are rumors that place to Levy Leipheimer and George Hincapie in BMC Racing next season. What does these rumors for you? Do you think you’d ever work for them? I see BMC in ProTour in 2011, if some stars with so many prestige come to the team, do you think so?
Thomas Frei’s reply – can say nothing on this Moment. i think BMC will give out in the next few weeks a press release. The only thing wath i can say is that u can be sure BMC will have a really Strong Team next year! ;)

Can’t it be 1st September already?! Sadly though (well, in some ways..) I’ll be in Israel then with no internet!!!

And i'll be in my new house, potentially with no internet for a week :|
Must research cyber cafes..

Yeah I know, but LA always makes me nervous
Will keep my fingers crossed about KAA

Wasn't there something about KAA and Sky?

KAA says to norwegian media that he wouldn't mind shacking up
Says it would be cool to finish his with Lance, the legend. I think he wouldn’t mind staying with Saxo either but this is his last contract and he wants to get paid well. Don’t think he will just base the decision on Saxo-sentimentality or Lance-flattery but rather the best offer from one of those teams. Probably 50/50 where he ends up.
Source: Verdens Gang (norwegian)
Good on him
I read Shack stuff too. Towards the end of his career he’s certainly entitled to look for the best deal. It seems to me too that LA has less problems with old soldiers.

Morning, all!
I wonder if we’re going to get video today…
Throughout the stage all I kept on thinking was: ‘don’t finish second, you can’t finish second again’.--Heinrich Haussler
We got a little bit yesterday so fingers crossed
"When he accelerates, he's like Superman emerging from the telephone booth!" La Gazzetta journo Paolo Condo talking about Edvald Boasson Hagen.
Maybe this one isn't doomed!
139km to go and the escape has a 45 second gap, they’re been joined by Julien Loubet (AG2R), Francis Mourey (FDJ), Anthony Ravard (Agritubel), Dominique Rollin (Cervelo), Robert Gesink (Rabobank) and Pierre Cazaux (Roubaix Lille Métropole).
I’m not sure whether the Martens chasing trio made it or not…
"When he accelerates, he's like Superman emerging from the telephone booth!" La Gazzetta journo Paolo Condo talking about Edvald Boasson Hagen.
mmm Rollin on the podium would be nice

Seems Moerenhout (Rabobank) is also in the breakaway

ohh thats sweet

O/T is anyone running an Eneco thread today?

:) Sweet. Then we're covered on both races!

Sorry--I checked right before I posted, and your thread wasn't up
at least on my screen. Sometimes it takes a few minutes before they appear, though. But I did look!
Throughout the stage all I kept on thinking was: ‘don’t finish second, you can’t finish second again’.--Heinrich Haussler
Right, let's try and establish who IS in this break...
Ticker correct that it was Moerenhout all along, not Martens and that it’s Sebastien Minard, not Amael Moinard. Confusing!
So in the break is Julien Loubet & Stéphane Goubert (AG2R), Francis Mourey, Sébastien Chavanel & Arnaud Gérard (FDJ), Anthony Ravard (Agritubel). Dominique Rollin & Ignatas Konovalovas (Cervélo), Robert Gesink & Koos Moerenhout (Rabobank), Florian Guillou et Pierre Cazaux (Roubaix-Lille Métropole), David Arroyo (Caisse d’Epargne), Sébastien Minard (Cofidis), Michael Friedman (Garmin), Cyril Gautier (BBox) and Takashi Miyazawa (Meitan Hompo).
But the gap had come down to 30 seconds so not sure what’s happening with it… around 130km to go
"When he accelerates, he's like Superman emerging from the telephone booth!" La Gazzetta journo Paolo Condo talking about Edvald Boasson Hagen.
Yep, now has less than 8 seconds! :/
127km to go

You really have to take this show on the road!
You are the ticker queen

I think it's finally calmed off a little..120km or so to go and it's still all together..
"When he accelerates, he's like Superman emerging from the telephone booth!" La Gazzetta journo Paolo Condo talking about Edvald Boasson Hagen.
Also, don't forget the Eneco thread is up & running thanks to Majope/Frinking if this race bores you or you want to follow both
"When he accelerates, he's like Superman emerging from the telephone booth!" La Gazzetta journo Paolo Condo talking about Edvald Boasson Hagen.
Nicolas Vogondy has strengthened his lead in the mountains competition..
He took maximum points on the first 3rd category climb of the day, the Cote du Grand Puycconieux.
Also, there’s been a crash! Just two riders involved Sébastien Duret (Bretagne-Schuller) and Ludovic Turpin (AG2R-La Mondiale). Sadly Turpin is obviously hurt because he’s had to abandon, no word on what it is yet..
"When he accelerates, he's like Superman emerging from the telephone booth!" La Gazzetta journo Paolo Condo talking about Edvald Boasson Hagen.
That's 117km to go btw
"When he accelerates, he's like Superman emerging from the telephone booth!" La Gazzetta journo Paolo Condo talking about Edvald Boasson Hagen.
115km to go and it's got interesting again!
An attack by Caisse d’Epargne boys David Arroyo and Mathieu Perget, they’re being chase by Yohan Mombaerts (Auber 93), who’s 8 seconds back and the two have 25 seconds over the peloton.
However, it seems the peloton have split into two for whatever reason!
"When he accelerates, he's like Superman emerging from the telephone booth!" La Gazzetta journo Paolo Condo talking about Edvald Boasson Hagen.
Wahoo! This could finally be the break of the day...
Perget and Arroyo have 1.10 over the peloton now, Mombaerts was taken back into the peloton. The peloton appears to have come back together as everyone has slowed down for a nature break. Sometimes it’s a good thing we don’t have live feed ;)
Now…where’s my ice coffee..
"When he accelerates, he's like Superman emerging from the telephone booth!" La Gazzetta journo Paolo Condo talking about Edvald Boasson Hagen.
Gap is now up to 2.15
The ticker is plugging Mathieu Perget’s personal website..

3.10 now :)

Well he's French and they are, so i guess that's good enough for them

I am very jealous! :/
So far the hunt for cross races here isn’t going well!
"When he accelerates, he's like Superman emerging from the telephone booth!" La Gazzetta journo Paolo Condo talking about Edvald Boasson Hagen.
Cervelo should be working at the front of the peloton..
Their mission today according to Wyss was to have men in the breakaway and to try and get Florencio into yellow of course. Tickers ought not to be biased, but i’ll back the Florencio motion
"When he accelerates, he's like Superman emerging from the telephone booth!" La Gazzetta journo Paolo Condo talking about Edvald Boasson Hagen.
But yours is a unique ticker
"How strange it was to see men doing something beautiful. Something pointless and elegant." Tim Winton, 'Breath'
87km to go, Perget & Arroyo still have 3.25 minutes
Cofidis are working on the front of the peloton for Sammy yellow shoes Dumoulin and I have some crackers and a little piece of cheese for my lunch, plus an iced cappuccino, because you all needed to know that
"When he accelerates, he's like Superman emerging from the telephone booth!" La Gazzetta journo Paolo Condo talking about Edvald Boasson Hagen.
Crackers and cheese sounds a little austere!

It's shopping day, all that's in the cupboards is rivita crackers and some cheese in the fridge!
"When he accelerates, he's like Superman emerging from the telephone booth!" La Gazzetta journo Paolo Condo talking about Edvald Boasson Hagen.
About 70km to go, nothing to report, gap is 3.20, steady
"When he accelerates, he's like Superman emerging from the telephone booth!" La Gazzetta journo Paolo Condo talking about Edvald Boasson Hagen.
Two riders have jumped ahead of the peloton, they're 1.20 ahead of them, so they're 2 minutes away from Perget & Arroyo
It’s Jonathan Thire (Auber 93) and Pierre Rolland (BBox Bouygues Telecom).
Perget has been picking up mountains points, to challenge Vogondy for that jersey..
"When he accelerates, he's like Superman emerging from the telephone booth!" La Gazzetta journo Paolo Condo talking about Edvald Boasson Hagen.
64km to go, Besson-Chaussures have started working at the front of the peloton
The pace has gone up and Rolland/Thire have been taken back into the peloton. Perget/Arroyo still have 3 minutes.
Two more have dropped out for Landbouwkrediet-Colnago: David Boucher and Koen Barbé
"When he accelerates, he's like Superman emerging from the telephone booth!" La Gazzetta journo Paolo Condo talking about Edvald Boasson Hagen.
54km to go, the gap has gone back up, 3.30 minutes now!
The weather there is still nice, what am i looking out? Storm weather, copping for a thunderstorm here in Grimsby. Wish I was at Limousin!
"When he accelerates, he's like Superman emerging from the telephone booth!" La Gazzetta journo Paolo Condo talking about Edvald Boasson Hagen.
It's ok in London from what I can see out of my puny office window!

You Southerners always get the better weather anyway!

Hmm. As long as it doesn't attack while I run to the tube at 7!

It was supposed to be heavy rain all day so at least we had a good morning
"When he accelerates, he's like Superman emerging from the telephone booth!" La Gazzetta journo Paolo Condo talking about Edvald Boasson Hagen.
Baha, ticker made me smile.
It said- Information of the upmost importance…so what is it you think? Just that one of the Auber 93 guys has changed his bike.
Is the ticker man that bored he feels the need to go all sarcastic? Pft!
"When he accelerates, he's like Superman emerging from the telephone booth!" La Gazzetta journo Paolo Condo talking about Edvald Boasson Hagen.
Cofidis are angsty, no-one wants to help them and so they're rebelling by not doing as much work
What does this mean? With 42km to go, Perget & Arroyo’s gap has gone out to 4.30 minutes!
"When he accelerates, he's like Superman emerging from the telephone booth!" La Gazzetta journo Paolo Condo talking about Edvald Boasson Hagen.
30km to go and Perget/Arroyo have 3.50 now
The gap has come down a little as some riders have attacked from the peloton, so the peloton have pushed the pace a little. Not sure who the escapees are yet, but they’re 3.25 behind the two up front, so their gap over the peloton is marginal.
"When he accelerates, he's like Superman emerging from the telephone booth!" La Gazzetta journo Paolo Condo talking about Edvald Boasson Hagen.
Ok, got it!
It’s a large group who have attacked the peloton…
Sébastien Hinault (AG2R), Sandy Casar (FDJ), Franck Bouyer (BBox), Cyril Gautier (BBox), Thomas Voeckler (BBox), Lilian Jégou (Brittany Schuller), Bjorn Leukemans (Vacansoleil), Xavier Florencio (Cervelo), Dominique Rollin (Cervelo), Jean-Marc Marino (Besson), Koos Moerenhout (Rabobank), Martin Velits (Milram), Antoine Dalibard (Bretagne-Schuller) and Sylvain Calzari (Agritubel).
Annoyingly for me, Luis Leon Sanchez was also in it, but punctured! Grrr!
Florencio is the danger man in the attack btw, he’s 3rd on GC and a very strong rider…expect Cofidis to be particularly against this move
"When he accelerates, he's like Superman emerging from the telephone booth!" La Gazzetta journo Paolo Condo talking about Edvald Boasson Hagen.
Seems the chase group is 3 minutes behind the two up front, but have a 1 minute over the peloton...
Meaning the peloton have slowed. Cofidis really aren’t having fun today are they..
"When he accelerates, he's like Superman emerging from the telephone booth!" La Gazzetta journo Paolo Condo talking about Edvald Boasson Hagen.
Under 22km to go!
Florencio is in a great place to take the leader’s jersey, he picked up time bonuses from an intermediate sprint and is now just 2 seconds behind Dumoulin! Cmon Xavier!!
"When he accelerates, he's like Superman emerging from the telephone booth!" La Gazzetta journo Paolo Condo talking about Edvald Boasson Hagen.
18km to go, the large escape is 2.35 behind Perget/Arroyo, the break is another 1.10 minutes back
Looking good for a stage win for Cd’E and Florencio is setting himself up perfectly to take yellow which would be fantastic for him, he’s been named in the initial start list for Cervelo’s Vuelta team so this would boost him :)
"When he accelerates, he's like Superman emerging from the telephone booth!" La Gazzetta journo Paolo Condo talking about Edvald Boasson Hagen.
Under 15km to go and the peloton seems to have given up!
Peloton is 4.40 behind Perget/Arroyo. The chase group is 2.20 behind them, you’re looking at your stage winner, just which one. I’d suggest Perget, but we’ll see..
"When he accelerates, he's like Superman emerging from the telephone booth!" La Gazzetta journo Paolo Condo talking about Edvald Boasson Hagen.
Come on Arroyo!

They're team mates, I don't really care who wins :p
Be nice for Perget to get a win i guess…Or Arroyo! Perfect for me really ;)

Perget is :p

Oh lord, my ticker seems to have died! But it's under 10km...i think
Perget or Arroyo really isn’t it? And making sure Florencio keeps safe!
"When he accelerates, he's like Superman emerging from the telephone booth!" La Gazzetta journo Paolo Condo talking about Edvald Boasson Hagen.
Sorry i went quiet, technical issues, laptop had a melt down!!
The Caisse boys crossed the line hand in hand, unable to choose! It’s just who’ll they give it to, my ticker says Perget…

Shame you can't have ties in these siutations!

I don't think Mathieu will mind with all the things he currently leads now ;)
"When he accelerates, he's like Superman emerging from the telephone booth!" La Gazzetta journo Paolo Condo talking about Edvald Boasson Hagen.
Sebastien Hinault led home the chase group around 2 minutes down!
Arroyo is shattered, collapsed after finish line, but he’s ok….
Now, where’s the peloton?

So much for 2 minutes, thanks ticker...
"When he accelerates, he's like Superman emerging from the telephone booth!" La Gazzetta journo Paolo Condo talking about Edvald Boasson Hagen.
Ticker has reverted, despite holding hands and crossing the line together a winner must be chosen
It was deemed Arroyo’s wheel went over first! Super day for my Caisse boys, i’m working on top 10s, patience please
"When he accelerates, he's like Superman emerging from the telephone booth!" La Gazzetta journo Paolo Condo talking about Edvald Boasson Hagen.
Ah, just in time to see the podium.
Oh, well.
Throughout the stage all I kept on thinking was: ‘don’t finish second, you can’t finish second again’.--Heinrich Haussler
Right, it seems the chase group didn't cut the gap down enough for Florencio to become leader..
Perget now leads overall, as well as the intermediate sprints, the young rider’s jersey and sitting pretty in 2nd on the mountains competition to Vogondy!
"When he accelerates, he's like Superman emerging from the telephone booth!" La Gazzetta journo Paolo Condo talking about Edvald Boasson Hagen.
They seem to be doing highlights from Stage 2 now.

Cofidis aren't impressed!
Complaining that Cervelo and Vacansoleil refused to work. Sorry boys but when you have the race leader not many other teams tend to be very co-operative. Says it would have benefited Cervelo to work as Florencio could have become leader but if they had they’d have been taking Dumoulin to the finish and as it is, Florencio did ok for himself anyway.

Tomorrow is the last stage, pretty lumpy and bumpy again, the last categorised climb is 50km from the end but this doesn’t mean it’ll be smooth sailing. I still expect Florencio to be a threat
