Eneco Tour--Stage 2 LIVE
Yesterday was Aalten-Ardooie, today Ardooie-Brussel...does anyone else think these look less like stages and more like encyclopedia headings?
For video links, try cyclingfans or myp2p, or check the thread below. UPDATE: Live now (and free!) on cycling.tv--I recommend Google Chrome (just got endless buffering when I tried to load it on Firefox, but as always with the mysteries of the internet, your mileage may vary)
Lots of bergs pop up today:
via www.sport.be
Oude Kwaremont. Muur. Huh. Why do those sound familiar?

Throughout the stage all I kept on thinking was: ‘don’t finish second, you can’t finish second again’.--Heinrich Haussler
My intro. Wouldn´t ruin my work (:
Today stage 2 of the eneco Tour. After some American firework yesterday of Farrar we´ve got….. another sprint stage. How surprising. It´s b+loddy hot here so don´t expect to much action although there is a strom coming up with windspeeds of 110km/h. I have no clue where that is or where they are riding but let´s hope for some wind and with E. Dekker in the car that will be a nice stage… No?
Koldo Fernandez has dropped out.

In shame or is he injured...?

Thanks Majope/Frinking/whoever updates here :)
Is cycling.tv free again today? Or was it a one day wonder?
"When he accelerates, he's like Superman emerging from the telephone booth!" La Gazzetta journo Paolo Condo talking about Edvald Boasson Hagen.
No clue.
Video isn’t supposed to start until 16:15 CEST/10:15 EDT—I guess we’ll find out then. CTV is showing the Innertube right now on their live link, but I don’t know if that’s usually free or not.

Their screen says 16 minutes to live race feed.

Yep, it said that for me, so thinking it'll work! Cool

Nice, clear picture.
Just perfect for ‘becco stalkers with big nasty knives, isn’t it?

Fall in the pack. Andreas Klöden, the German leader of Astana, is a wrist fracture and require registration.

Should have been their leader :/

Frinking--require registration?
Original text: op en moet opgeven.

Yes, I love it that "requiring registration" = "giving up" in Dutch.
Throughout the stage all I kept on thinking was: ‘don’t finish second, you can’t finish second again’.--Heinrich Haussler
Hij moet opgeven
Literally: he has to give up. Sometimes used in the sense “giving up details” which in turn could mean registration.
So the gnomes inside of Google Translate aren't entirely drunk today.
Thanks!

That means Vino will get a start
Sorry for Klodi

Wiggins should have to pay fines for his use of black socks and white shoes
I despise black socks

Not necessarily terrible with a tan
but fashion tragedy with white shoes or legs. And it was an LA inspired trend
"How strange it was to see men doing something beautiful. Something pointless and elegant." Tim Winton, 'Breath'
This is why I never wear black socks.
Despite my impressive tanlines, my legs are still whiter than most people’s are in the winter…

you will still have a youthful complexion. Swings and roundabouts :)

pfft.
Black socks with white shoes is fine. It’s mid-calf length black socks with black shoes that’s not so good. Yes, we’re looking at you LANCE.

Hans Dekkers out now too.

Apparently the Vuelta was never on the programme for Klödi
So this crash has no bearing either way on Vino competing.
Kloden is on the preliminary start list.

Dirk de Mol on the phone by Belgian
Left wrist is injured.
Kloden had no experience in the Belgium country. All the hills were new and he was here for the GC.
The Tour exhausted him so much that he surely would skip the Vuelta. So Vino stays first reserve.
They have 13 riders in the pre selection for the Vuelta.
Chris Horner and Zubeldia are their main riders. Navarro Hernandez also sure for the Vuelta.
None of them were ever on the list to start.
Kloden was one of the 13 pre-selected, and listed as a starter. Whether they decided today or two weeks ago that he wasn’t going to start, someone still has to move up from the reserves to take his place.

Chris Sutton info. Anyone have any?
Not too familiar with him, but he seems to be assuming the role of chaperone for Farrar. In his last two wins, Sutton has been the last man standing for Garmin.
Chris, still just 24.
Was with Cofidis before Garmin. Last year he won the Delta Tour. Not an awful sprinter in his own rights, but will be more the Renshaw type, always working for in his case, Farrar. Won Cholet-Pays in 2006.. In 2007 he won Stage 4 of Circuit Cylicste Sarthe. He was 4th at the Tour of Qatar last year. Came 2nd in the 2008 uci track world cup classics madison, partnered with Cam Meyer.
Best result this year was 2nd on Stage 7 of Tour of Poland. Seems like he could be a good guy for Farrar, but he’s still learning himself
