Eneco Tour Final Stage TT......LIVE!

Time to settle the GC. Edvald Boasson Hagen seems to have the win almost in his grasp.  13.1 km shouldn't create the big timegaps  and unfortunately some of the TT threats have fallen by the wayside, most notably JI Gutierrez and Nibali. Farrar in second place is DNS today, opting to move on to Assen to rest up for his third GT this year.

First rider sets off at 12:35 CEST and EBH should start some time around 16:00 depending on how many other DNS we have today.

Preliminary starttimes here (Click on "Nieuws" in the left menu)

First!

Bad news about Farrar for the VDS teams that have him—end of race points out the window. Still, only one person in my household is affected by that, and it’s not me.

Morning all

Is today a foregone conclusion for BossHog?

by PopUp Rolen on Aug 25, 2009 6:46 AM EDT reply actions

Go, Boss Hogg!

Of the closest riders on GC, Bak and Posthuma shouldn’t be a problem. Chavanel is a good enough time-trialist to worry about a bit, but 31 seconds is a lot to take back. Still, he might take the stage.

EBH did say he thinks the course suits him. Fingers crossed for him.

any predictions for the TT?

by rbjhan on Aug 25, 2009 6:59 AM EDT reply actions

EBH, Chava, Monfort in some order.

Although Lovkvist and Rogers could also be up there…Wiggins if he’s cycled himself into better form this week…

Actually, I have no idea. My predictive powers are missing today. If anyone sees them, give them a hearty smack and send them home, okay?

When Wiggo dropped back a couple stages ago and took himself out of GC contention...

I assumed he decided to conserve energy and make a go for the win in today’s stage. I think he’ll have a go at it, and his form is good enough for a podium, not sure about a win though.
