Hotittude Vuelta Style!
Yes, because it's nearly Vuelta time and the start list is bumper packed with very pretty members of the peloton it is this time again. Fellas, if you want to join in please do, if not, err, sorry! Ladies, let's post!
I'm getting us started after the jump by picking the best off each team...Warning-it's photo heavy! And you know there'll be lots of Benna!
Right, so I'll start us off with my pick of the hottest from each team and then the pic spam can begin!
Euskaltel-Euskadi? Well it has to be Igor Anton really. Honourable mentions to Aitor Hernandez for being pretty cute and to Inaki Isasi for having some good thighs. Anyway, here is Igor (Reuters)...
AG2R La Mondiale? Errm they're making the choice pretty easy, I'd say Nocentini... This photo is Roberto Bettini from during the Tour.
Andalucia-Cajasur- Well this is a tough one because their very obvious choice, Javi Moreno, bust his collarbone in..was it Vuelta a Madrid? Memory escapes me, anyway he's not doing it now. But Manuel Calvente makes up for that, he's pretty cute as is Manuel Ortega, but if i have to choose between them I'll go for...Calvente, because there's koala appeal in it!
Astana- For me, a toss up between Jesus Hernandez who actually is quite a cutie, with his babyface and big smile or the more mysterious Haimar Zubeldia, but I'll go for Jesus here and sure Albertina will help with some Zubes imagery below. Here's Jesus showing how much he loves best friend AC, aww.
Bbox Bouygues Telecom- Hmm some interesting smaller names here but personally the clear choice is Giovanni Bernaudeau, though I wish he'd get rid of the earring... On a side note poor Damien Gaudin is not a photogenic person, he always seems to be moody or dorky looking..hm!
Caisse d'Epargne- A pretty good team, I'm obviously quite biased and so my pick is Alejandro Valverde, but Imanol Erviti is an utter cutie and J-Rod has his moments too, but for me I'm just AV biased. Other notable mentions for David Lopez who has a certain charm and Xabier Zandio who looks better with shorter hair, so interesting to see how it is at the moment.
Cervelo Test Team- Well, Dominique Rollin is obviously lovely, but how about a shout out for Irishman Philip Deignan whose accent is just plain sexy. Shame there aren't many photographs to do him justice.
Cofidis- Amael Moinard would be the obvious choice but I think there's something promising in young Frenchman Julien El Fares.
Contentpolis-Ampo- I had trouble with this team, no-one really stands head and shoulders above the rest.. Manuel Vazquez is probably the best! From Vazquez's site.
Francaise des jeux- Mickaël Cherel is just such a cutie, who else could I turn to? Anthony Roux has his moments though.
Fuji-Servetto- Another team who offer more than one option. If Eros Capecchi isn't your thing, feel free to look at Davide Vigano, Frederik Kessiakoff or even Benat Intxausti who has his cute moments. I have to pick just one...well I'm still Capecchi biased, but there's some very interesting photos of Vigano to be posted below, Cyclegirl and Albertina know exactly what I mean! So here's Eros, with extra added Quinziato goodness ;) No idea where i got this, Eros' site?
Garmin-Slipstream- I'm quite liking this team too. But I'm digging Tyler Farrar right now, surfer look and all. From Garmin's Flickr
Lampre- The obvious choice, and I've gone for it, is Damiano Cunego, I'm partial to the little Prince, but Emanuele Bindi is an interesting addition to their squad. From Cunego's site.
Liquigas- This is just mean! Basso, Bennati and Quinziato?! Pft. Well Quinz has been used above thanks to Eros so I'll go for Benna because we didn't get to see him much during le Tour. But I am cheating because Basso is in the photo too, mwuaha!
Quickstep- Devolder and Boonen? Thank the selectors for me. Has to be Boonen though...Think the photo is Mark Renders..
Rabobank- Interesting decision. If I was picking on smiles alone Freire has my vote, but I'm not. So..Lars Boom, although he looks better minus the mullet.
Silence-Lotto- Not too much choice here, obviously it's between Philippe Gilbert and Jurgen Roelandts who has his moments, but Gilbert is so much more consistent. (Plus i fear Cyclegirl will kill me if i don't pick him ;]) Dressed up in footy gear? I like. The photo comes from this blog... http://philgilbert0507.skyrock.com/42.html
Columbia-HTC- Michael Albasini doesn't get the attention he deserves, nor does Adam Hansen.
Team Milram- Yes, it's a pretty team with Ciolek and Gerdemann but I'm partial to Thomas Rohregger. I wonder if his Mum will be baking him bread again for this Grand Tour like she did for the Giro...
Team Saxo Bank- Both Schlecks? Nice! Cancellara, Kolobnev and possibly Breschel and Fuglsang too? Spoiling us...but who to pick..argh! Model Matti I think, for variety.
Vacansoleil- An interesting addition to this line-up, they boast several cuties. Borut Bozic isn't so bad, but Matteo Carrara was lovely back in the day and ain't so bad now. Marco Marcato is my pick however.
Xacobeo Galicia- Easy pick for me, David Herrero is a pretty boy for sure. David Garcia Dapena has his moments though.
Now, onto the picture spamming!

Oh my! But check the rest of the AG2R team, there's not many to work from! :/
"When he accelerates, he's like Superman emerging from the telephone booth!" La Gazzetta journo Paolo Condo talking about Edvald Boasson Hagen.
Hmm, yes, I discovered his Aqua & Sapone look while googling him during the Tour...not so hot.
But there is something about him I find quite appealing…with shorter hair.

Frederik Kessiakoff is a very welcome addition for Fuji...

A man who has his own coffee brand? Hell yeah!! Credit to Pez? I think..

No he doesn't, more's the pity.
At least if he went to Euskaltel he’d be all over Diario Vasco every day like the rest of the team!

Andy Pruitt, I believe
It’s from the Sexy Back bike fit earlier this year.
Yeah, that photo amuses me no end. It’s like…“Gee, I’m not the only one who’s awed… and look – he’s taking notes!”

Oh c'mon, think about it....
PdC is not exactly a little-known spot on the web, in cycling circles. News often breaks here before other sites. And if anyone had a remote interest in the opinion of the cycling community in general (and perhaps especially of the hardcore fans) – and had an inkling to see well-thought-out and well-articulated reasoning and debate – where do you think they would go? Where do you go, ’eh? ;-)
Doesn’t mean that we need to get all self-conscious, mind. The beauty of this place is that it is un-censored and yet as a whole it is self-moderating. Largely due to the quality of the membership ;-). Folks don’t last long here if they have a desire to make statements and/or express opinions without being challenged, without entering into discussion and debate. And as for threads like this one… well, a degree of objectification is part and parcel of being a person in the public eye, yes? The spirit of these threads is very much ‘a bit of fun’, and I’m sure that is how it would be perceived by the…um… subjects ;-)
+10 We all know why Benna is smiling.. He knows the PdC ladies melt when he does..

Welcome discolite and thank you!
I wish Basso wouldn’t cut his hair so short. I know he’s, erm, losing it, but he looks better with it not quite so shorn!
"If I were World Road Race Champion, I would wear black shorts. That probably has more to do with me being on the wiser side of 30 and understanding better that the decisions I make now never really go away. White shorts would not be something I'd be proud of...." - David Millar, in Rouleur.
Perhaps...
he gets his locks cut at the same place that I do. I ask for an inch off, and she takes a yard. Is there some sort of cosmetological conversion table that I’m unaware of?
(P.S. Thanks for the welcome!)
thanks for those
the first photo is so not hottitude. nottitude? And as a hetero male it only took me like 2 secs to find the one hottitude pic of interest to our team. Yay. Anyway, fun thread, even for us bystanders.
Offering this one up as a debate...
Xabier Zandio, worthy of hottitude or not? I go through phases because sometimes his hair gets very mullet like and has strange plaits at the back…but sometimes it’s like this and well he wins me over…

I'd say that he has potential
Really, the hair is neither here nor there for me. C’mon, the lads spend so much time wearing helmets anyway. (And most of you lot seem to have a thing for men with redeeding hairlines!).
Good strong features. But really – it’s the eyes though, innit? Like those eyes :-)
Receeding hairlines really don't bother me... :)
I agree though. Eyes are crucial! Potential is a good word, i’ll keep tabs on Xabier this Vuelta to see if he meets his potential

Call me shallow
Receding hairlines are an obstacle when I’m objectifying. Hence, Valverde and Boonen will never make my top ten. Daniel Fernandez on the other hand…
"How strange it was to see men doing something beautiful. Something pointless and elegant." Tim Winton, 'Breath'
That's ok, I'll gladly take Valverde :D

Perhaps, but Eros really does have a great one, he'll certainly challenge!

Let it be hoped that Jakob does not emulate his former mentor, the Chicken.

Methinks Lars Boom is not getting enough appreciation...
Which I blame on his decision to almost shave his head which can cause hottitude demerit points no doubt.

Tell him to win me some @#$% VDS points and then I'll appreciate him more.
Note that Ciolek got 4 pics for winning a stage. You listening, Boom?

Hmm. Maybe they do read this site...
Boom came through with his first VDS points of the season today by snagging the mountains jersey. Okay, Lars, I appreciate you more.
Here’s a cute pic of him with Tom Stamsnijder (snagged from Boom’s website):

More to come if and when he brings in more points.

Not that there’s and so forth.

Totally.
I’m so not a fan of shaved heads.

And in more VDS appreciation, today's 2nd-place finisher Wouter Weylandt

I think it works on WW
because the piercing calls attention to what is, especially for a cyclist, a really great chest.

This is true! I agree. You have to have the right look for it to work ;-)
