On the subject of Stuey and cobbles

I have a “Lou is a sap” story to share…

Remember the doco that SBS did last year, ‘Conquering Roubaix’? At the end there was a montage of photos from the race, with the song “Nobody Sees” by Powderfinger. Well, I heard that song in a supermarket a little while back… and got choked up , LOL. I had to leave the checkout line and collect myself!

by Lou... on Aug 30, 2009 6:34 AM EDT up reply actions

Not a sap in my eyes

Music is a powerful trigger, and I probably cry more at sporting courage than for any other reason, although in the last couple of days Teddy Kennedy has brought me undone.
Go Stuey!

This looks like fun:

Today’s second stage, between Assen and Emmen, sees the riders tackle a short section of cobbles. Although measuring a mere 1.5km, this section is sure to create a certain anxiety within the peloton and all the riders will be keen to get through unscathed. The riders will face this section at km 175, some 28 km from the finish line.
