Tour de Pologne--Stage 7 LIVE
Final day in Poland is expected to end in a bunch sprint. Bad news for the Netherlands and Switzerland, who are unlikely to knock Edvald Boasson Hagen from his podium perch and finish far enough ahead of him to take Norway's 9-rider World's team away from them. France virtually eliminated themselves yesterday--their highest-placed rider is over 3 minutes back.
Race starts at 14:50 local time, 8:50 EDT
Live ticker in Polish and occasional English

9 intermediate sprint points up for grabs today, plus 10 for the win.
EBH is 11 seconds behind Ballan…should be an interesting stage.

Ticker says lots of attacks, but nothing has stuck yet.
I’m guessing Columbia doesn’t want those intermediate points gobbled up by a break.

That doesn't bother me too much, as long as he gets opportunities.
I think he’d do well to stay put for a year or two, since he’s doing well at Columbia and Sky is still a big unknown, but I’ll root for him wherever he lands.

O/T: I vacationed in southeastern Poland for three weeks with my husband, back
in 2007. It was really beautiful; it was September, during the harvest, and we drove all over the place, with only a vague idea of where we wanted to go. This is the first time I’ve had a chance to see a stage this week, so it’s really bringing back great memories.
I highly recommend vacationing in Poland. We did some great hiking in the Bieskadi (sp?) mountains, suberged ourselves in a Lemk and Boyk historical church road tour, and met some really wonderful people.

Do Norway have to send 9 riders to Mendrisio?
Because maybe the will only send 7 riders, the ones that the Norwegian federation thinks is good enough. Feltet says that the riders are “Edvald Boasson Hagen, Kurt Asle Arvesen, Thor Hushovd, Gabriel Rasch, Lars Petter Nordhaug, Stian Remme and Frederik Wilmann.”
