Vuelta Stage 14 Granada - La Pandera......LIVE
La Pandera. This is where the Lorem meets the Ipsum. Also it wouldn't surprise me if we see some purus fermentum along the way. Some would say that vitae pharetra justo commodo quis, but I have no idea what that means.
So far the andalucian climbfest-weekend has been more about gradual selection than decisive attacks. Surely someone will throw caution to the wind and go for the Big Prize today?

Hey, i thought I might go for Bubble Boy and Cuddles today..
Seems they need a bit of love :)

Bwahaha ;)
"How strange it was to see men doing something beautiful. Something pointless and elegant." Tim Winton, 'Breath'
It reached 32 degrees here today!
And it’s 23 right now :-)
A little touch of French
brightened my day. I can say Cyril now without giggling. Nice..
"How strange it was to see men doing something beautiful. Something pointless and elegant." Tim Winton, 'Breath'
Secretly yes. So thank you ;)
"How strange it was to see men doing something beautiful. Something pointless and elegant." Tim Winton, 'Breath'
It shouldn't be secret, he's lovely!
A true gentleman, he didn’t join in on the rudeness to me, he was busy signing an autograph for a young girl :)
Venga Caisse d'Epargne!
I'm glad he's as lovely as he looks
and I really like the brown knicks. No, really
"How strange it was to see men doing something beautiful. Something pointless and elegant." Tim Winton, 'Breath'
The kit looks nice in person
But my god it’s sheer!!! Lloyd Mondory left nothing to the imagination, very tight shorts
Venga Caisse d'Epargne!
I'm sure Cyril was more modest :)
"How strange it was to see men doing something beautiful. Something pointless and elegant." Tim Winton, 'Breath'
I think he actually had big enough shorts on
Mondory is quite the show-off, all he did was bend over!
Venga Caisse d'Epargne!
see, Cyril has class ;)
"How strange it was to see men doing something beautiful. Something pointless and elegant." Tim Winton, 'Breath'
If I had class like his
I’d bend over a lot more, too.
Evening folks
Sui and PopUp – feel free to ask questions if our highly intellectual debate is beyond you ;-)
Let's not mention Latin then...
"How strange it was to see men doing something beautiful. Something pointless and elegant." Tim Winton, 'Breath'
Our reputation rests on this
Wait for the person who tells us it is. imagine our surprise…now ;)
"How strange it was to see men doing something beautiful. Something pointless and elegant." Tim Winton, 'Breath'
...
( ^ that was me glaring at you)
Four hours’ sleep, OK? muttermutter
Frinking thanks you..
"How strange it was to see men doing something beautiful. Something pointless and elegant." Tim Winton, 'Breath'
...and I mean...
…it didn’t even occur to me to question why Dan would go to the trouble of posting in Latin. Hmmm… actually, does that say more about me, or about Dan? (feeling a little bit better now :-)…)
It occurred to me
but until Ted’s link, I was all at sea. Even that was a challenge at first, which I’m sure says something about me ;)
"How strange it was to see men doing something beautiful. Something pointless and elegant." Tim Winton, 'Breath'
well i'd have never guessed space filler either,
i was quite disappointed really. Thought he’d google translated his text into latin – to give us the sunday mass in latin. Which i thought was a wonderful idea – leave it mysterious. Way more powerful that way. Or maybe he’d dug up some old profound latin text and copied it in, and the clue to what it was or translation would come later. Nah, just space filler. Srsly Dan.
And by the way, sunny today, was sposed to rain but nary a cloud in sight. yesterday had some sprinkles to go with the cloudy clouds.
Sprinkles on toast?
There are some bits of Euro-culture I’m just never going to get.
Throughout the stage all I kept on thinking was: ‘don’t finish second, you can’t finish second again’.--Heinrich Haussler
Do you guys not have
Fairy Bread? I loved that, as a kid…
Mmm.. love sprinkles too
But fairy bread is prettier
"How strange it was to see men doing something beautiful. Something pointless and elegant." Tim Winton, 'Breath'
never had a specific name for it.... just sugared bread i suppose
"Wizard's first rule. People are stupid. They will believe anything they want to be true or fear to be true." -- Terry Goodkind
You've had sprinkles on bread?
Never heard of that anywhere in the States. Where I’ve lived, the natural habitat of the sprinkle is ice cream, although they do wander onto cupcakes and other frosted items from time to time.
Bread, never.
Throughout the stage all I kept on thinking was: ‘don’t finish second, you can’t finish second again’.--Heinrich Haussler
It's only recently that we've had
ice cream that isn’t chocolate, vanilla or strawberry. I used to watch US shows and the idea of eating ice cream out of the carton seemed really decadent ;)
Bread and sprinkles was luxury…
"How strange it was to see men doing something beautiful. Something pointless and elegant." Tim Winton, 'Breath'
seriously? poor you
french vanilla is still my fav…
butter pecan’s up there too…
friendly’s brand nut fudge brownie ranks up there also
blue bunny’s bunny tracks and double strawberry
"Wizard's first rule. People are stupid. They will believe anything they want to be true or fear to be true." -- Terry Goodkind
I'm lactose intolerant
So in theory it all sounds lovely. The reality is ugly ;)
"How strange it was to see men doing something beautiful. Something pointless and elegant." Tim Winton, 'Breath'
how unfortunate
"Wizard's first rule. People are stupid. They will believe anything they want to be true or fear to be true." -- Terry Goodkind
Mmmm...ice cream.
This is probably my favorite:

But this one has sprinkles built in:

Throughout the stage all I kept on thinking was: ‘don’t finish second, you can’t finish second again’.--Heinrich Haussler
I hear Ben and Jerry's
and start a whole ‘West wing’ riff in my head. Lovely..
"How strange it was to see men doing something beautiful. Something pointless and elegant." Tim Winton, 'Breath'
not a fan of b&j... edy's on the other hanf
"Wizard's first rule. People are stupid. They will believe anything they want to be true or fear to be true." -- Terry Goodkind
not sprinkles, gran sugar
butter the bread (one side), pop in toaster, when done, sprinkle with gran sugar
"Wizard's first rule. People are stupid. They will believe anything they want to be true or fear to be true." -- Terry Goodkind
my brother started this in our household when kids... my mother swore it would ruin her toaster... never did.... a quick faux french toast so to speak
"Wizard's first rule. People are stupid. They will believe anything they want to be true or fear to be true." -- Terry Goodkind
I would worry about the toaster, too.
But sugar on bread isn’t as odd to me as sprinkles. Like cinnamon toast for people who don’t like cinnamon.
Throughout the stage all I kept on thinking was: ‘don’t finish second, you can’t finish second again’.--Heinrich Haussler
Same
"How strange it was to see men doing something beautiful. Something pointless and elegant." Tim Winton, 'Breath'
no, we also use bread that is untoasted
"How strange it was to see men doing something beautiful. Something pointless and elegant." Tim Winton, 'Breath'
No
That the sprinkles are a topping for untoasted, buttered bread
Sounds awful, doesn't it?
"How strange it was to see men doing something beautiful. Something pointless and elegant." Tim Winton, 'Breath'
Nope!
’cause I can vividly recall the taste of Fairy Bread, even though it has been decades since I last ate it. Hmm… might have to get some Hundreds and Thousands tomorrow ;-)
(for those who may be wondering, ‘Hundreds and Thousands’ are what we call little round multi-coloured sprinkles – the sprinkles traditionally used on our ‘Fairy bread’)
I loved it!
But it loses a lot in the description ;)
"How strange it was to see men doing something beautiful. Something pointless and elegant." Tim Winton, 'Breath'
decorating sprinkles here
"Wizard's first rule. People are stupid. They will believe anything they want to be true or fear to be true." -- Terry Goodkind
Okay, we've established that Aussies call sprinkles on bread
“Fairy Bread” and serve it at children’s parties.
So, Ted—what do you call it in the Netherlands, and is it also a dish primarily for kids?
Throughout the stage all I kept on thinking was: ‘don’t finish second, you can’t finish second again’.--Heinrich Haussler
Er, just bread-with-sprinkles I guess
“Brood met hagelslag.” Perfectly acceptable, though slightly decadent (“First savoury then sweet!”), for adults.
My part of Europe is obviously far more civilized than others
No sprinkles on my toast. Can’t say I ever heard about it before either.

I've got a box of those in the cupboard

Well thank fucking god for that
I was composing a prayer to The Great Bjarne this morning…
“Oh Great and Wonderous Bjarne, who I would ordinarily not even consider questioning… I ask one thing of you… PLEASE let me see Tony’s name on the DNS list. Please. Seriously. I doubt that you will hear me ask this again, oh Great Bjarne…”
Could Stuey have a little rest now?
Or does he have to keep being ‘plucky’?
"How strange it was to see men doing something beautiful. Something pointless and elegant." Tim Winton, 'Breath'
Does Stuey *want* a rest now?
For sure, he wants to be at home right now – no question. …If it weren’t for that, I mean.
Too hard Lou
Big weekend. i can’t distinguish the subtleties. But whatever Stuey wants …
"How strange it was to see men doing something beautiful. Something pointless and elegant." Tim Winton, 'Breath'
No subtleties, mate
Not in my present state!
Perhaps a rephrase?… If it weren’t for the fact that he has a new kiddie at home, would Stuey really be wanting to pull out now? ‘cause I’m not sure that he would (if it weren’t for the whole family/baby thing, that is).
Am I making any more sense? (Or should I just go and gibber quietly in the corner, LOL…)
He'd like to fresh for Switzerland too ( I think)
And his friends are all going home …
"How strange it was to see men doing something beautiful. Something pointless and elegant." Tim Winton, 'Breath'

I sure as hell don’t side with the Fashion Police when it comes to Tony…
Oh.
Are you the one who liked the white suit?
Throughout the stage all I kept on thinking was: ‘don’t finish second, you can’t finish second again’.--Heinrich Haussler
But no...
I actually had nothing to say about his suit ;-). As I recall, I had posted the joyous news that he had de-throned Federer… and then sat back in horror as the Fashion Police swarmed in… I mean seriously, people…
You know, clothing's just that

In case riders out of the time limit are given a second chance by the president of the commissaires panel, those who are classified in the classification by points shall have confiscated the equivalent points awarded to the winner of this same stage to their individual general classification by points.
