Vuelta Stage 15 Jaén - Córdoba..........LIVE
First day after the mountain should be reserved for the breakaway-artists who have saved themselves this weekend. The two climbs up the Jeronimo! just before the finish should be enough to pursuade the sprint-teams to take the day off.
A three man sprint between between the Arvesen, Ballan and Leonardo Duque looks inevitable here. Let me be the first to congratulate Duque on his win.

Too bad for Bob yesterday. And have to agree with Jens.

No Seahorse, *definitely* no frocks
If a frock is required in this sect, I guess that make you the high priestess.
’Roo fur is fine with me, especially if I get to eat the original owner ;-)
Culled roo, good for us I know

Ach, missed the podium. Morning all.

Also, while we're here
Make sure that Córdoba ends up on your itinerary sometime. In a continent where 90% of the cathedrals could be culled, and nothing of value would be lost, Córdoba’s Mezquita is definitely worth checking out.
I'm not sure
I’d call it good, but it’s definitely interesting. The Mezquita is one of those places that were forever being remodeled by the latest conquering religion. Roman temple, Christian church, Moorish mosque, Spanish cathedral. All incorporating what came before.
was ghastly in my opinion,
but yeah, interesting i guess – the columns of the original mosque had been built of torn down christian churches. Then later when the christians took back over they built a cathedral inside the mosque – that’ll show em. What a mess. Was probably nice when it was originally constructed. But the Alhambra in Granada was my favorite down there.

Go Meier!
Let’s see another Canadian win today.

Okay, okay.
As long as it’s Boom.

I hate that song
it was meant to be funny … well … really meant to be, because it might have been not that funny at all.
Hang on, I thought you meant Egoi Martinez!
"If I were World Road Race Champion, I would wear black shorts. That probably has more to do with me being on the wiser side of 30 and understanding better that the decisions I make now never really go away. White shorts would not be something I'd be proud of...." - David Millar, in Rouleur.
Your predictions have been very prescient today

Well I bet that's clear now Helsy ;)

If it goes to a sprint I say Duque
But I fancy one of the Xacobeo boys- Martinez or Herrero :)
Gotta back the Spaniards.
Venga Caisse d'Epargne!
Imagine my surprise

My heart says Kolobnev to kill them on the climb near the end and go solo
But I really want to see Xacobeo do well, lord knows the Spanish domestic squads need all they can get
Venga Caisse d'Epargne!
Bruce will be here first

Maybe it has been mentioned before, anyway...
Zeke got a 20-second penalty yesterday for receiving a water bottle on the last climb.

For those of you who haven't left the thread recently
Boasson Hagen won the stage in Britain.

Yes, according to what's been posted in the ToB thread.
EBH is second.

I thought Reus was never going to be a good rider anymore...
But from what I’ve read, the pace was so high, there were only 50 riders left in the peloton at the finish, when Reus won.
Great stuff
The peloton split in the finale.
It was a twisty run in…the gap was 11 secs between the two bunches I think

Yeah, Breukink's statement was repeated in the whole Dutch medie.
I really have no idea how great it was. Haven’t heard time gaps or saw summaries so can’t tell. But that he can win a stage there is a good sign. If he can back on his old level is doubtfull. He was the greatest cyclist in his category. Still a long way to go to there but it’s a very good motivation for him. It wasn’t all for nothing
Heroic effort it was...I only saw the highlights but he looked so very strong and the bunch just couldn't do enough

I know those roads pretty well.
Reus dropped de Gendt with about 15k to go on the coast road, which is basically a long, flat straightish dual carriageway actually, so I think he did very well not to be caught. I would have expected him to be. Then with about 2k to go it was downhill through the city centre to the river, that bit is rather twisty, over the bridge & then a sharp left with about 300 m to the line. The peloton was indeed split by the chase & pretty strung out. I think it’s a very good win, myself.

ToB on ES after Vuelta...nice
BAH!!!!....Cavendish?!
TLP 7.0 Whereof one cannot speak, thereof one must be silent
Back when Valverde was left behind in the 2nd or 3rd group,
Matthé Pronk (Vacansoleil), derny king, helped guide him back. Watch out for payback in one form or another.
I like 'sycophant' more ;)

Well.. I don't.. Gesink was in the first group..
VacansOleil already rode the peloton behind a breakway who already flew.. Dunno what they want but I think it’s strange
Thank you.
