Vuelta Stage 16 Córdoba - Puertollano.........LIVE
A hard day at the office awaits Columbia-HTC as they presumably will try to control the stage today for André Greipel. The german sprinter is not only one of the few remaining sprinters, he is also the main/only threat to Valverde in the points-competition. To win it he needs this stage to come down to a sprint, though.
Luckily for him the Haitch-boys know how to deliver.

Morning!
If Philip Deignan thinks a breakaway will stay away, I’m not going to argue with him
Venga Caisse d'Epargne!
I'm ok with that ;)

I sometimes wish twitter could read tweets out loud in the appropriate accents...
Philip’s would be heaven!

Hehe. There are some other tweeters for whom this would be a welcome addition I feel... ;-)

Ohhh yeah!
Forgot to say to you that my mother found K’s accent “unique” and “cute” to quote her

Oh yes, i might chat to him tomorrow if he's free
But i hear he’s been quite popular for interviews and stuff.
Should i tell him i’m the blog writer?
Venga Caisse d'Epargne!
No, do that on Saturday when we're both there! haha

hi there
I think there’s something wrong with the site. whilst everything else opens instantly Podium Cafe tonight is screaming ;)
"How strange it was to see men doing something beautiful. Something pointless and elegant." Tim Winton, 'Breath'
of course ;)
I hesitate to mention it knowing your (realistic) response. Had there been trouble opening anything else, I wouldn’t have mentioned it. all seems ok now, but it wasn’t. (And in spite of me taaking the piss out of myself, I actually knew what to look for). Survival computer skills. I wrote the book :0
"How strange it was to see men doing something beautiful. Something pointless and elegant." Tim Winton, 'Breath'
Yes, I've been having problems too, Seahorse
And, like you, I find that it’s only the Cafe giving me trouble. And the server error doovah is a bit of a hint that it isn’t from my end ;-)
Yes!!!
I was pretty sure I was right, but you know these techno queens… Rbjhan we have to take a win here. Technically they are, as you will acknowledge, few and far between ;)
"How strange it was to see men doing something beautiful. Something pointless and elegant." Tim Winton, 'Breath'
I've had server errors off and on here for the past day or so as well.

Yes.... and?
This is an established fact. And it is not the first time that The Great Bjarne has been in this position. I’m dying to see what he does with Cookie…
Remake him into a replacement for Stuey
Classics domestique?
"How strange it was to see men doing something beautiful. Something pointless and elegant." Tim Winton, 'Breath'
Whaaaaat?
Seahorse, you know that Stuey is irreplaceable!… and I think that the term you’re after there is ‘classics stud’ ;-) …
Shorthand Lou!
Knew the moment I sent it that it was a mistake. Replacement in GT’s not classics! Domestique…
Yes, Stuey is a stud – in cycling ;)

Yeah, he cant let them walk
but he’ll need to pay them too. I think cance is through 2011 though, and some of that danish talent may come through, so perhaps they would be able to trudge on.

If you’ve ever had a hankering to watch Laurens ten Dam catch a fish and eat it raw, this is the video for you.
There’s also a video of the van he talks about on Twitter all the time.
Ten Dam’s been the revelation of Twitter, as far as I’m concerned. He comes across as nice, funny, and just seems to love cycling.

But since it’s been off and on, I can’t say I’m having problems, since for all I know it could be over. Thus, all I can say is that I’ve had problems.

On this morning's edition, we learn
that two of the Three Stooges instead identify with an alcoholic who dies of a heart attack, a bitter old paranoid, and someone who gets caught with a hooker. Well done, Seahorse & RBJhan! We also learn that Helsy, bless her young heart, has a little bit of trouble with the concept of feeding and care of goldfish. To you, Helsy, I say – practise on goldfish before you move on. Finally, we learn that Seahorse isn’t nearly as challenged by tech as she lets on (something she learned from Frinking, perhaps).
Frinking can teach us many things
I admit, rbjhan as a reformed alcoholic is a bit of a stretch, but the Figurehead as CJ…Done Deal!

…Greipel will win…
Either that, or the entire peleton will decide it doesn’t give a monkeys and Jesus will ride home alone.
Or something else entirely will happen, but I suspect not.
Don’t think I will be watching this on tivo tonight

This is a weird question
but in this race are we hearing more of the whir of the bikes than usual? I like it, it’s atmospheric.

Love the sounds of the bikes
but I haven’t noticed it any more than le Tour, etc. “Atmosoheric” is a nice term to describe it though.

Dutch team for Mendrisio
- Robert Gesink
- Karsten Kroon
- Koos Moerenhout
- Lars Boom
- Johnny Hoogerland
and 1 from:
- Laurens ten Dam (but has said he didn’t really feel like going)
- Sebastian Langeveld
- Bram Tankink
- Pieter Weening
weening would maybe be best?
he’s been climbing alright in the vuelta..nice to see hoogerland in there
"well...you live in england so: you love the rain. loves the queen. hates cycling. based on mr bean had a tremendous amount of humour. all ride in a mini cooper. all getting drunk before the age of 12. getting drunk at least 3 times a day."- frinking, 7/9/09
True and I think he has more class than Weening
but he’s not much of a climber. If Ten Dam really isn’t feeling up to the challenge, Weening might the best option on that climby Mendrisio course.
interesting
Might be too hilly for Boom this time, but he has future world champion legs, for sure. I doubt Gesink has the finish for it, but I wouldn’t be surprised if he places – unless his legs are fried from the Vuelta thingy.
hmmm... new pavement.. roller skating anyone?
