Vuelta Stage 19 Ávila - La Granja.....LIVE
Last Chance City for the climbers. Three big climbs and a 17 km drop to the finish. A pretty picture if you are an Olympic gold-medallist, not so much if you are a young dutchman with a hole in your knee and bad memories from Nice.
Let's see what they make of it. Either way it should be good one

Ha! The Aussies have been shut out completely.

Total disrespect!
Just because I’m soft. At least Cuddles has the good taste to be looking at Basso’s butt. I’m thinking your boy Gesink is looking at the baggy butted Vaverede ;)

Hey! Don't bring AV into this!!
If i had to pick an ass to look at it’d be his, baggy shorts or no baggy shorts! Although Imanol is a better choice..
Venga Caisse d'Epargne!
We know Helsy.I promise we know how you feel ;)
But you won’t show us his bum in amarillo because you know I’m right.
"How strange it was to see men doing something beautiful. Something pointless and elegant." Tim Winton, 'Breath'
I still like it!
But i will offer up Imanol Erviti http://www.flickr.com/photos/copsadmirer/2892287815/in/photostream/
Venga Caisse d'Epargne!
Helsy you're letting Valverde down
You’re meant to defend his ‘form’ no matter what. see Lou’s defence of Tony’s back view in white. Fierce, inspired.
Instead you offeran alternative to your chosen one. Bad form ;)
"How strange it was to see men doing something beautiful. Something pointless and elegant." Tim Winton, 'Breath'
You want me to defend my boy?
I offer Imanol merely because i’m trying to ram him down peoplet’s throats ;) But defending AV…no problem, i spend most of the damn time doing so :p
Valv has one of the best bodies in cycling, he has perfect thighs, not too skinny chest, muscular arms without being too muscular. A gorgeous smile, nice eyes. I like his hair, what can i say. And i like his ass, it looks better in black and red, but i still approve and i like it!! There, defensive enough? :)
And it’s not that bad, see… http://www.alejandrovalverde.es/images/multimedia_2009/ampliada-vuelta82.jpg
Venga Caisse d'Epargne!
She is, but she hasn't had enough lessons from you ;)
(And I can’t look)…

I guess that she doesn't have
the standards that I do…
Now that's a picture ;)
And nothing that resembles yellow

Don't get me wrong his ass is great..
But I’m not really an ass girl, whereas I am an AV girl, what can i say

Short shorts are the way to go ;-)

Tony really can wear whatever shorts he wants
but I actually like the longer Cervelo and FDJ shorts. Just wish they weren’t white.

Nah, just stopping by

Is it missing? Seriously
Have you contacted your favourite TV network?

no. as you know, all my electronics work perfectly
I’m asking Lou why she has to read the live thread…
She'd miss our banter ;)

Anyway… I’m out. Hmph, at least I’ve got leave booked for Worlds next week…
yeah right

frinkster predicted the final podium
how impressive…..
Are you relieved not to be getting the gnome?

Daydreaming of seeing K tomorrow? ;)
Which other buses do you want to target btw?
Venga Caisse d'Epargne!
We could try and chat to him..
Is there anything you particularly want to know? I’m quite a shy person so i’m not promising anything.
Venga Caisse d'Epargne!
Ha! You are a journailist form your own blog!
No time to be shy ;) And nothing particulary.. Just what he expect from next year? Can he again be good in his courses again or does he still need a couple of years to come back to his old level.
Dunno what his courses are btw but you can ask that first!
Only shy because i feel like they're just trying to get ready
If they make eye contact or smile i’m all for chatting or taking photos. Minus Napolitano, eek.
Ok, i’ll see how he’s enjoyed things this year :)

Now that is a good plan. Then we can go and inform Hugh Porter so he can get it right in future ;-)

Because everybody asks about that all the time. It’s all he has ever talked about in the media for two years. His employer thinks it’s enough, too: Knebel in Holland Sport: “We said to Kai, it’s time to become a bike racer again. You must fight for your place on the team.”
I think before the stage in particular wouldn't be a terribly good idea.
In the interviews from the other day it seems like he still can’t really talk about it without getting upset, understandably so, though I would hope having that win (which is starting to look better & better, I think) might help a little bit.
His stage win (& jersey) was the reason for Knebel talking about him on that show
I got the idea that the Dutch TT Champs basically had been his last chance. He did badly but because he had a flat and “other circumstances” he got another one. I’d say he seized that opportunity good & well.
"Which other buses do you want to target btw?"
You realise that you’re now going to picked up by the anti-terrorist police as soon as you step off the train?
Mark
Of course :-) We'll have to work out what to say....hahaha
Euskie naturally, Katusha for Pippo, Columbia for Lovkvist (and EBH I guess), Ag2r (mmm Dessel), I’d like to see Reus, and tell de Gendt he’s crazy (in a good way), perhaps congratulate Russ too….and all the others as well ;-)

Katusha? :( Oh noooo
So long as i avoid Napolitano! Columbia again? Oh gooo on then ;) Besides, I need my Tony Martin and nice guy Maxime fix.
AG2R…haha, they’re going to think i’m stalking them.
Topsport V are easy. Candi-Tv/Halfords always seem to be next to Rapha anyway so that should be easy.
Venga Caisse d'Epargne!
Don't worry, you can hide round the corner while I stalk the Katushans ;-)
Candi and Rapha….love hate relationship there, rivals but sticking together! Let’s hope K is not required for too many interviews tomorrow :-/

I shall hire a personal assistant to manage these things for me :-). For now, I’ll just focus on the money and clear out of here early (must resist temptation…)
Salida neutralizada. Los corredores ya recorren los 4,5 kilómetros neutralizados por las calles de Ávila antes de que se dé la salida a esta decimonovena etapa. Cielo nublado pero sin opción a la lluvia por el momento. 15ºC.

Well It all depends how the race plays out because if it stays together for a while and there isn't a dangerous breakaway
Kroon, Moerenhout, or Gesink could probably keep in contact for a while. Gesink was 10th last year on a flatter course
by Vlaanderen90 on Sep 18, 2009 7:09 AM EDT up reply actions
Er, Kroon was one 3 that always had a spot
Langeveld just added as sixth. With Gesink’s knee, Moerenhout’s breathing problems and last minute replacement for Clement in the TT, and all the others explosive enough but not really natural climbers, I agree it’s going to be tough to get any sort of result.
Nice... Want to see that.. But I don't think it's allowed to help each other..
As seen in other WC they don’t do that.. Haymann is I think the last Raboman
Breakaway caught.
A la caza del fugado MARTIN Daniel (116), VORGANOV Eduard (219) atacan en busca de RIBLON Christophe (018). El pelotón pierde 23 segundos.

sad day indeed. How popular is cycling in Portugal?
Does this make the front page of the news, or is this something only a cycling fan would hear about?

Ah... interesting
But I guess he would need the ground to be “good to firm” otherwise those skinny old bike tyres would be a bit of a handicap
What was in his tea this morning?
There is no direction I can look at that from and think it makes sense
whats the course like for the TT tomorrow?
sammy put less than 20 secs into valverde in valencia…i reckon he needs to win by at least 30 seconds today…

But one must remember that the gold jersey will make you go better
Its 28km and it’s pretty flat. Doesn’t seem particularly technical
Venga Caisse d'Epargne!
Pretty flat with a bit of a hill in the second half but it is only 26k

Btw....the last mountain stage of the last GT this year...why's it so quiet on here?
Venga Caisse d'Epargne!
They are mourning that it is the last mountain stage and can't bring themselves to accept that the season is almost done

+1, I can't bear to think about it!
This is the first full cycling season I’ve followed closely and it’s been really fun. Thanks to all of you here for enlightening me on the finer points of the sport. There is SO MUCH more to it than just the TdF.

skil-shimano pulled out, apparently they’re going to wait for the new calender in 2011, so in theory all the rest of the teams applying could get them, there’s room now. story is here:

but since Fuji is leaving that would make sense

Peloton nearly all together, seemed to have virtually pulled the Moncoutie group in
Venga Caisse d'Epargne!
Some one forgot to turn off the lights. I guess I'll get them this time.
The first cyclist to stand up to him. And he did it in silence.
