- Robert Gesink, Rabobank, at 0.36
- Valverde, Evans, Sanchez, etc, at 0.44
General Classification:
- Cadel Evans, Silence-Lotto
- Alejandro Valverde, at 0.02
- Sammy Sanchez, at 0.08
- Tom Danielson, Slipstream, at 0.13
- Robert Gesink, Rabobank, at 0.29
- Ivan Basso, Liquigas, at 0.46
- Cunego, at 1.26

I got a similar shot but w/ a little more podium girl
So, better, really. Unfortunately that vid had the wrong aspect ratio, 4:3 stretched into 16:9.
I'm thinking it's probably relief ;)
I’m glad for him

Hey it’s only stage eight and that thing’s only gonna get tighter!

i try to be nice about him
but socially awkward? That’s our Cuddles.

Maybe he's just trying to stay healthy.
Podium girls: the #1 vector of transmission of the H1N1 virus throughout the peloton.

I'm laughing. am I meant to be?

A very very happy puppy.

No wonder he's happy
First stage win in a GT since 04 giro I believe

Not only that, but he looked *good*.
He rode Moncoutie down from 1+ min ahead over 3k and went by him as if he were stopped, and left the rest of the GC guys behind in doing so.
I’d say that should make for a very happy puppy indeed.
You see how calm Vaughters is? That’s because he’s really one giant seething ball of Evil inside. With like, extra Evil.
Awww, it's ok. I have such a crush on many members of the peloton ;-)

Emma Johansson beats The Evil Vos on the Cauberg to win last stage
Vos wins the Profiel Ladies Tour though.
Vos didn't look at all healthy at the TT natchamps
Here’s an unflattering headshot while she was warming up. Sorry Vosje.

Are there any women who look good in casquettes? I sure don't.

Only Fuglsang a slight disappointment today
and if he hadn’t been smooching belgian tank-trucks, who knows.
Might have been nice
if instead of starting big named riders that they would start riders who actually wanted to compete.
Well, they're not there for publicity they're there for a purpose
. If the UCI/organizers have a problem with riders using the Vuelta for Worlds tune-up they should do something about the schedule.
It is weird
That owners let their riders place such a priority on the Worlds at the expense of their sponsors.
Plus I would have liked to have seen the Schlecks show even an appearance of supporting Fuglsang.
Riis has publicly said that he think's it's time
they had the rainbow jersey on Saxo. I think he is looking out for the sponsors.
Not so sure
JAGM showed early, then faded…came in @ 2.20

Gav…thanks for the Twitter update…and I was also able to keep track via text updates on the trusty iPhone.

Ha!

Yes, what exactly was he up to there, silly boy...?

I know Cunego will probably pay for his efforts sooner or later (maybe as early as tomorrow?)
But perhaps he’s the type that would just need to completely forgo the Spring classics to arrive on competitive form at the Giro or Tour? All his career he’s been arriving at the Grand Tours like Laurent Jalabert used to, overcooked from too much racing in the Spring classics and one week races.
Why not just go all out for the Giro next year? Especially if the course profile suits his strengths as a rider. (ie no monster mountain stages and less TT miles) He won a very similar Giro in 2004 and I still haven’t given up hope that he can repeat that performance one day with a little luck on his side.
hmmmm. Vino down 9 minutes
and a dark-horse candidate for most over-rated, Remy di Gregorio arrives dfl.
Odd stage . . .
Vuelta is always weird
if you compare with the Tour. So many agendas. As for Remy he could either be completely in the dumps or he’s pulling a Rasmussen, making sure he will be free to ride for stagewins on stages that suit him better than todays. I’m leaning towards no 1.
Di Gregorio
Hmm, either he’s sick and off-form, or he’s going to ride a break tomorrow. I seem to recall him pulling a dfl-breakaway combo in the past. Or, he’ll go home ;-)
seems that Portugal
did good to Cunego, despite the weather are quite different. Poor Moncoutie!! My Vds are doing good.

Great shot
and yes, a great week from him.
I was glad to see him finally crack today. Had he perservered I would have had a big “?” on him, but as it is, I like what I see.
Chapeau.

Yay Cuddles!
It’s nice to see him in the golden fleece.
Now if only SBS would actually show some of the stages live…
