The announcer seems to like Columbia...

“Team Columbia… H! T! C! What a beautiful sight!”

If he keeps this level of excitement the next couple of hours I'm gonna be impressed

I’m sure that not even Moises Aldapes wife is so excited to see him as that Towle guy is.

That's a matter of definition

There’s a race on now.

103 KM to go

Vaitkus, Aldapa Sanchez and Anker Sorenson in a break that seems to be about to get caught.

The tracker is way off, isn't it?

They’ve done 4 laps now I think.

I think the announcer is wrong.

CN has:

First KOM results are:

1 Chris Anker Sorensen (Team Saxo Bank)
2 Moises Aldape Chavez (Team Type 1)
3 Tomas Vaitkus (Astana)
4 David Veilleux (Kelly Benefit Strategies)
5 Andy Jacques-Maynes (Bissell Pro Cycling)

The break is approaching the end of lap four and there’s 10 laps so…

by ZoeRochelle on Sep 7, 2009 4:39 PM EDT up reply actions

The KOM was at 43,1 km

were they planning on showing the race at all, or are we supposed to be so entranced...

…by Frankie that we didn’t notice anything missing?

I'm already annoyed

They’re interrupting the show by switching to some damn cycle commuters every now and then.

Yes

It was just a bad joke, the commuters were supposed to be the riders in the breakaway.

Did all of the Pros from the US break a bone this year?

Horner – more than one
Armstrong – collarbone
Leipheimer – butt and collarbone
Hincapie – collarbone

Who didnt?

Ted King
(sure there’s more but having a hard time comeing up with names)

Eh...

Did they show the Danish flag next to Vaitkus name? Whatever it was, it was definitely not the Lithuanian flag.

As Civetta hinted above. I’m pretty sure it was the Danish flag earlier.

what don't you get?

he’s answering people… he does that

by civetta on Sep 7, 2009 5:57 PM EDT up reply actions

On his page are only messages from him. In some of them, he quotes what other people wrote to him (“RT” = re-tweet).

by tedvdw on Sep 7, 2009 6:01 PM EDT up reply actions

everything that that you see on his page

is stuff he’s sent… if it says RT @someoneorother, then he’s re-sending/commenting on something someone else has said to him.

Really, it’s easier to give in & sign up…

by civetta on Sep 7, 2009 6:01 PM EDT up reply actions

yes. You have to "follow" someone to see their tweets on your page.

Or you can click on your “mentions” and it shows you everyone that used your username.

by ZoeRochelle on Sep 7, 2009 6:02 PM EDT up reply actions

Ok.. I'm a slow learner..

Nice to some see it like it is: RT This is evans?
@erwindewit: @CadelOfficial i am in shame to be a Dutch today :-( What was Geesink thinking
From someone else? And what is the @?
about 1 hour ago from TwitterFon
Ok sorry you also have a race to follow

by Frinking on Sep 7, 2009 6:05 PM EDT up reply actions

Yes that was from Evans

He re-posted for all of us to see what a guy named ‘erwindewit’ wrote to him and added some commentary of his own (“Nice to some see it like it is”). The @-sign is pronounced ‘at’ (to, directed at), used to reply to other users. If you write @foobar it automatically becomes a link to the Twitter page of user ‘foobar.’

by tedvdw on Sep 7, 2009 6:10 PM EDT up reply actions

Another question.. If I look on your profile(?) I see

RT @CadelOfficial: @Frankster1967 ‘Watch Gesink’ – wish I’d got this tweet before the stage!!!!
about 1 hour ago from Tweetie

Why is that on your screen?

by Frinking on Sep 7, 2009 6:20 PM EDT up reply actions

Ted was just retweeting Cadel's tweet.

Meaning Ted repeated the tweet that someone else had already tweeted.

by ZoeRochelle on Sep 7, 2009 6:26 PM EDT up reply actions

Thanks both! I think I understand it.. Or half of it!

Next step is going to use it but that is a long shot.. For now

by Frinking on Sep 7, 2009 6:30 PM EDT up reply actions

That's the easiest part:

Just sign up for an account and start following people (go to their page and click ‘Follow’). You will get their tweets all on one page without doing anything else.

by tedvdw on Sep 7, 2009 6:34 PM EDT up reply actions

Because I sent it out

I re-tweeted what Evans replied to ‘Frankster1967’ because I thought it was kind of funny and wanted to share with my audience (heh). Replies to other users (like this one from Evans to Frankster) don’t show up on other users’ screens unless they are following both, so despite it being a public reply (you can see it on Evans’ page if you go there) it’s still a bit hidden. Just a way to get it out there.

by tedvdw on Sep 7, 2009 6:27 PM EDT up reply actions

Ha! Just checked in--

Paul Sherwin and Frankie Andreau—not bad for a little ol’ US race eh?
