Great! That would be fun to do to random individuals. Thanks

The third guy should have been.

Some guy in his whitie tighties is mooning him at the top of a mountain. I’d seriously consider turning around.

i like the moto

coming up with a chalkboard with the time back for the peloton – don’t know how it really was for these cyclists, but imagine being on a solo ride and a moto coming up like that aside you and that’s the first hint you get of something odd happening. Ha!

I have had random bystanders along the side of the road see me coming, get ready, and then as i go by, run along beside me shouting allez! allez! Ha ha.

Does an experience like that leave you scarred for life? Or do you keep riding in search of another experience that will give you that same adrenaline rush?

Ha! oh, just cracks you up is all.

actually it’s really common around here for people to yell various kinds of encouragement whether they’re passing in a car or alongside the road. I guess every now and then you come across some character gets a little more creative.

An old lady shouted 'exceptionelle!' when I got to the end of Arenberg :-)

"If I were World Road Race Champion, I would wear black shorts. That probably has more to do with me being on the wiser side of 30 and understanding better that the decisions I make now never really go away. White shorts would not be something I'd be proud of...." - David Millar, in Rouleur.

Around here I'm just glad they're not throwing stuff at me. ;-)

That is just excellent

There was a similar thing going on at the top of the Palomar Mtn climb during the Tour of California where a group of drunken costumed goofballs was doing the same sort of thing. You could tell who had run their gauntlet by the tell tale yellow chalk hand prints on their backsides.

A frozen 'cross ride from this last weekend. As you may be aware we have had siberian conditions here in the UK with a low of -14 degrees centigrade here on saturday morning. It was a beautiful sunny morning so i layered up and set off for a snowy 'cross ride along a roman road. I checked the thermometer when i got back to find it had been -10 throughout the ride! I had a lot of fun though and the views were spectacular.
