This may be helpful with helicopter shots with bigger lettering. ;-)

Wonder if this is a marketing plan to get more jersey’s sold, other sports seem to have a big stake in licensing merchandise.

"At the Tour of California this year I did a wheel change for Christian Vande Velde when he was in the break on the final day. Phil Liggett said on TV that it was the fastest wheel change he'd ever seen. That was pretty cool. That night Christian got me a beer and we watched Spaceballs in the RV." - Daimeon Shanks, Garmin Mechanic from Pez interview.

Funny we were talking about this the other day

on twitter when Sky came out with their kits. I found that I had taken a picture of Saxo Bank (Haedo) and his name was on the back. Never noticed their names. It’s very small though…I’m wondering if on the side, where Sky has their name is easier for us the viewers to see the names?

Cervelo is bigger and maybe able to read. And like Flying dog said, more marketable.

I would love to see names on the back

Would be especially helpful in letting the casual fan follow races. For the classics in particular. For me, the biggest obstacle to getting friends and family to watch, say, RVV or Amstel, is that they can’t tell the riders apart so they don’t develop attachments. The mountains of the Tour are easier for them to follow.

a couple years ago...

…the Toyota United team Dominique was on had names on the back also.

you know what’s awesome? my last name is Rollin and Dom gave me his jersey after the last stage of the tour de georgia. so yeah, i’ve got a pro jersey with my name on the back!

an "eh" for canadian riders would be even better.

hell, Liggett needs all the help he can get

If you don't have time to do it right the first time, when are you going to have time to do it again?
