Twit du Jour: Giro d'Italia Jerseys
Matt Conn of Pezcyclingnews shares this bit of news with us today:
Twitpic - 2010 Giro jersey (oh for a pair of scissors so we could actually see it!) #Giro2010
Note the return of Girbecco on the sleeve.
I'm also kind of wondering what she's wearing with the Maglia Bianca in this photo.
Check Matt's Twitter stream for the rest of the jerseys.

Hmm, well...
….she’s either leaning on the sort of arm chair you see in your typical nursing home or she has a potato sack on her lap. Your guess is as good as mine.
uh, yeah....
I know what you mean, suuuuuuure, she’s a real dog….yeah, that’s it, she’s um, ugly!? Very, very ugly. I hate it when women look like that, so potato sacky. ;-)

You can see better in the Maglia Verde photo
that she is wearing some really fugly tights. Don’t know whose fashion choice that was.
She was wearing something?
I must have accidently undressed her somehow. Funny how the mind plays games with you like that.

I'll be happy to go back and double check.

Hm
this gives me an idea about how we can make all the minimums on the kit order…

Yea Gav was going on about there being a jersey
So you’re not seeing it either, good. So we’re not the crazy ones, it’s that Crayola girl.

Exactly, I can not understand why the female's are apparently seeing something there
I see only a hot Dutch girl…I’m still trying to find that jersey but got nothing.

No more Maglia Ciclamino???
Found the article on the Giro’s website It looks like a pink, white, green and red jersey for ‘10. Here’s the <a href="http://translate.google.com/translate?js=y&prev=t&hl=en&ie=UTF-8&layout=1&eotf=1&u=http%3A%2F%2Fblank">www.gazzetta.it%2FCiclismo%2F14-01-2010%2Fgiro-nuove-maglie-602648529542.shtml&sl=it&tl=en" target="new">Google Translation of the artice. The video on the sidebar is pretty clear on the red jersey.
er
so what categories are we talking? white = ragazzo; green = KOM. What’s red?

No, sure looks red.
Basso’s suit looks great in the video, but he so needs a shave. Looks like he figures since he can’t hair on top of his head, he’ll grow it on the front.

What I mean is, dear writers,
every time you write about the leader of the points competition in the Giro, you will kindly refer to his jersey as the Red Passion jersey. Or if you prefer, Passion Red.
Benna in a Red Passion jersey?! I think I might lose all self control.
Indulge me, he might just get to wear it at some point!
I think the InterGiro has changed?
The maglia cyclameno isgone isn’t it?
I seem to recall its demise a few years ago.
Who remembers that five-gold-medal-winning Eric Heiden won that competition for 7-11?

Ghirbecco's still there
Quite clearly on the arm of the white jersey
It's
just a tribute.

I'm starting to think we are the one's wrongly seeing the photo's
nah can’t be…

I'm confiscating your apostrophes
since you clearly can’t be trusted with them when there are hot Dutch girls involved.

where did you guys see that she is dutch?

Dutch-Spanish, apparently.

I'm watching the video right now
I just can’t sit through it all in one go. I keep thinking that I’m getting to the bit about loving children and world peace, and that it will soon be all over, but there’s always more. Lives in Milan, works in Holland, eh. The commute must be a bit rough. “Sorry I’m a bit late, leaves on the line in Luxembourg this morning.”
Is it just me who's seeing this
or doesn’t it look like Girbecco is doing some naughty peeking in that picture?
I'm looking
still not seeing this alleged Girbecco or jersey.

Oh there is a jersey there for sure. Maybe you should see your optician.
I’m not seeing one here though.
I just found the jersey Sminer
If you blur your eyes slightly, it reveals itself as the part that wrecks the photo…..that and the “potato sack”.

Oh great, thanks Koppe
now it’s like the stereogram whose hidden picture has been revealed. Aahh, now I can’t see through the damn clothes anymore.

Age change for white jersey
I noticed on the Gazzetta video that the commentator described the maglia bianca as being for riders under age 24. I thought it might have been a misstatement, but the Gazzetta article also says the jersey is for riders under 24.
The maglia bianca has previously been for under-25 riders, like the Tour’s white jersey, so it looks like there’s been a change there.

They are not supposed to be on the same team..

No more cyclamina jersey?
Figures. Just another example of cycling ruining a nice tradition. Why ruin a good thing? it was one of the most recognizable jerseys in the world of cycling and they replaced it with some cheesy looking rag. This ranks up there with the hideous Columbia jersey change of 2009 as one of the most idiotic jersey alterations in recent memory.
Oh, and yes, that girl is smoking hot, lol. Damn!!!!!
I like the colour ciclamino. It suits me.
I shall continue to wear my 2008 Benna tribute jersey in defiance!
Me too
Well this red..

Not this red

Like, seriously...
I scroll the page down…I think to myself: “Aaaargh, fuck! It’s the Poles again! Now how did the Polish National Team make it’s way into this discussion?”… and I see that Frinking was responsible…
I wonder what happened to those guys. Were they scarred for life?

Mouve is better
Remember all those classic mano a mano battles between Moser and Saronni in the 70’s and 80’s? One of them was always wearing the maglia rosa and the other one had the ciclamina. So many other greats have worn it too: De Vlaminck, Jalabert, Merckx, Cipollini, etc. I just came to identify that color with the Giro and all those great champions of the past, why mess with a great tradition?
it is about the flag
you know green, white and red. like pizza. plus the pink for the leader.
Your bike doesn't want to crash so relax and let it roll!!!
Replacing the Ciclamina jersey is a tragic mistake. Red, pfft!
