Folks,
Need to abuse your experience here again. This time it is about the pedals.
As you may know I've been riding my MTB for years but after I moved to Panama I figured out the "road scene" is much stronger here and finally ordered my first road bike. I've read a lot of reviews on the webs but I just can't figure out what pedals to buy. And I trust you guys much more than any other review anyway.

MTB pedals are so much easier to choose.....egg beater, spd...anyway.
Some considerations:
- I have ridden my whole cycling life with clipless so adapting to this is not an issue.
- I am not very concerned about price since I bought a pretty light bike I wouldn't put entry level pedals on it. Value though is always a concern. Example: I like top range stuff...but not so top as the curve of $ per grams shaved start to get too steep.
- I have considered the speedplay as you can use them on both sides but maybe this is my MTB mind playing tricks with me. Is this important for road? I tend to think that this is not 10% as important as in a trail..but.
- Not concerned about walking either. When I go ride I ride when I do other stuff coupled with cycling I use an old MTB. So this is basically to train and race, sort to say.
So...any recommendations? What do you guys use?
