Jens Voigt Interview In The Morning
Hi everyone, sorry I've been away for so long (not that anyone probably noticed), but I've got a good one in the works for tomorrow and wanted to know if anyone might have some questions they'd be interested in getting some answers to...from Jens Voigt.
I do the happy dance whenever I think about my morning appointment tomorrow. I have to write 13 more words, so that I can post this. Ah yes, that should do it.

who would win in a fight between Chuck Norris and Jens! Voigt? What about a bike race?

what’’s his opinion on race radios.
"The road is our agony, but also our daily bread; and at night, when it is deserted and the moon glistens on the asphalt, the ridiculous dreams of racers like us pass up and down it."

What are his ambitions for this year?
also,
Who will score more VDS points this year, Stuey or he?
Who will score more VDS points this year, Nicki or Chris Sörensen?

A definite question, same with 2010 ambitions.
- I’m going to ask him about the Alpe d’Huez TT debacle as well when the psycho German fans spat on him.
- I can’t pass up asking something about that LBL with Jens and Vino…
Let's see
Jens, you race 100 days a year and train another 200 or so, you have five kids… you don’t sleep, do you?

How do you catch a Helmet Tiger?

From Gav’s Feb. 3 The Wednesday Session
Last, but not least, Jens! tells us today over Twitter that he is tired of talking about his crash from last year’s Tour. The Saxo Bank rider hijacked team-mate Andy Schleck’s laptop to tell Planet Twitter that the crash in the past now, and he’d much prefer to talk about something else. “ask me about my favorite joke, how to catch a helmet tiger. Its a silly one, but I just love it! Oops andy wants his laptop back,” Jens! said. A helmet tiger. Don’t ask me, I’m just the writer chick.
All the cool kids want to know!

But you found the answer!
linked in your comment: http://www.podiumcafe.com/2010/2/3/1291634/the-wednesday-session#30254281
But I'll bet he tells the joke much better.
It can’t hurt to get him going with an easy one.

When you finish racing will you end up as a Ds or a media man?

Just watched the interview - Great job!
I’m hoping he’s still on for the Tour of California. It would be great for the sport if he won here in America and more people got to know who Jens! is.

They must know
I’ve said for years that someone should do a Jens! reality TV show.

Please ask him how it felt to be back on the front of the peloton dishing out pain after the long layoff.

That's a fantastic photo!

Oh, how cool. Ask him how it felt to drop Cunego and Valverde on the Tourmalet during the '08 Tour.
Or, ask him about how he felt and how far back he finished on the Champs after his saddle broke off during that same Tour. (I always wondered, that was such a freaky thing to happen…)
Thanks for asking about Vino and LBL. I think about it all the time. Oh, for Jens! to have won a Monument!
They may perhaps name one in his honour instead :)

There's a guy who rides to the station every morning with no saddle.
He’s been doing it for months. Must be some kind of thigh toning mission!
Oh, if call him by his last name,
though I am not sure that situation would come up, remember that the i is only there to lengthen the o. The i is silent unlike in Voight. But hey, you probably knew this all along, Herr Gruber.
Oh, ask him about his favourite Allo Allo character. ;)
I thought for a minute you were channelling Frinking..

ah come on!
You have to give me a little bit more credit than that. :)
Just Finished...
50 minutes of Jens telling Jered stories. I spoke for about 1 minute total, Jens took care of the rest. I asked for a few more minutes tomorrow as well…I couldn’t resist. It’s hard to ask a lot of questions, because he has so much awesomeness to say for each and every question. I love you, Jens Voigt. I’ll post a few great bits and pieces as I go back through it.
So
this was you?

absolutely blown away.
I had to chew on my fist. Most of the stuff he said was hilarious, all of it was awesome. Everything he says is gold. I could have asked him anything, really. I did nothing except direct his energy.
LoL.. Know exactly what you are talking about
My 60seconds turned into 10 minutes +… BUt you can’t stop listening to him… He is truly a greaat guy.. Can’t wait to catch up with him again…

If he becomes a DS
I will be pissed. He needs to go straight to television.

My gut feeling is.........
He will ride next year, then go into a DS or Mentor role in a team……..

+1 no DS
I think Jens is a great story teller and commentator, and I think he knows this a little bit too. Straight to television for Jenzy.

Helmet Tiger
As for the helmet tiger joke – that’s best left for an in person telling says Jens. So if you see him at a race, ask him. :)
I'm so jealous, but so pleased that you had such a fantastic time. :-)
I would have been so nervous. I can’t wait to read your piece.
Excellent stuff on Pez, btw, Jered. I always watch for your byline.
Of course Andy can win
All we need is five Astanas to be attacked by a bear in the Pyrenees, then we’re just smoking (makes smoking gesture) all the way to Paris.

I asked about this year's Tour Podium
I asked, can Andy do it in July?
He said, how DARE you! Jokingly. His call for the podium is the same as last year: Contador, Schleck, and Armstrong – he wouldn’t pick the order though.
Super coolio.
Where are those mind-reading abilities right? Can’t wait for your report.

I love Jens too. I have you seen this interview?

Hey, that was CycleGirl! She mentions the interview above.

I was pretty sure that was her.
