I look at her and start to wonder

exactly which Genuine Vintage Barbie she is. And I even know some of the possibilities, curse you.

by Monty. on Feb 25, 2010 8:06 PM EST up reply actions

It's a mere matter of time...

You’ll see one at a flea market, filthy and neglected in the bottom of a plastic tote. Looks sort of like one of those vintage ones…Hey, made in Japan. You know the current ones are made in China or Indonesia. or somewhere a lot cheaper than China.

Five bucks? Worth a gamble, isn’t it? And you know, if you took her home and cleaned her up, she’d look kind of cool and retro on the shelf over your desk…

Youtube...

…hysterical what you can’t access in a library.

by Ed K on Feb 26, 2010 4:54 PM EST up reply actions

The members can get it, but the staff can't.

Same with Facebook, Twitter, all radio stations, any site run by a musical ensemble, lots of blogs (thankfully not mine), many TV sites, ebay and similar sites, and so on and so on :-(

by Albertina on Feb 27, 2010 7:38 PM EST up reply actions

Huh. It was just the opposite in the library I worked at.

They blocked access to some things on the public computers, but nothing on the staff computers.

Fabulous as always

I’m helping our local public library run a digital storytelling content and I cited your “Discreet Young Gentleman” as an example of what an amazingly good sample of the genre looks like.

A frozen 'cross ride from this last weekend. As you may be aware we have had siberian conditions here in the UK with a low of -14 degrees centigrade here on saturday morning. It was a beautiful sunny morning so i layered up and set off for a snowy 'cross ride along a roman road. I checked the thermometer when i got back to find it had been -10 throughout the ride! I had a lot of fun though and the views were spectacular.
