Upcoming Attractions! Live Chat with Ted King on Tuesday

New Feature!

Mark your calenders! Ted King, previously immortalized in crayon, has agreed to come to the Cafe (that's here!) for a live chat on Tuesday, 9 February. He will visit the site for an hour from 9.00 am to 10.00 am. Ted King ChatThat's Pacific Time. For other time zones, well, you can all do math way better than I can.

Ted will answer your questions about bike racing, training, food, travel, and whatever else you may have on your mind. Chris and I will be lurking about and we'll do our best to keep the conversation flowing, and if necessary, play a little red-light, green-light with the questions. We are hoping that Ted will be the first of many vict-- er, riders, to visit the site.

Want to start planning your questions? Roll by I am Ted King on the Missing Saddle and have a look around.

No need to R.S.V.P. Come as you are. See you there.. er... here!

Thanks Gav (and Chris and especially Nikki)

You must have really impressed him or at least you didn’t scare him away. ;-) I’m looking forward to this. Any chance we’ll get a crayon original of the King holding court, you know we love visuals.

either that or Gav is very cute surfer chick. He is single after all.

OK, sorry Gavia. You certainly must have impressed him with your eloquence, intelligence and cycling knowledge. Either that or the crayons.

I'm guessing the crayons.

Also, I bought him a latte at my fave Cafe. I figured it couldn’t hurt.

EST (that’s you, CycleGirl) – Wednesday 10th Feb 3:00am – 4:00am

by Lou... on Feb 5, 2010 2:16 AM EST reply actions

Nope EST is noon to 1 ;)

What do you mean there is more than one? I can’t believe I can see EST and think of three different time related meanings. You know you watch too much cycling when you know not only time zones and their conversions but also factor in things like daylight savings differences and overlaps.

Personally I am shocked everyone does not have the PST to local conversion mastered from the ToC every year. It is the biggest race of the year, just ask Levi.

you're welcome :-)

Chris and I came up with this idea a while back, and when I interviewed Ted King back in December I pitched it to him and he said yes. Yay!

by Jen See on Feb 5, 2010 12:11 PM EST up reply actions

Is this where we cue the countdown to Chris's behave or else post.

Just kidding!!! Although sometimes I wonder if maybe people forget that this is a very cool opportunity like the interviews and we can only hope that other pros will be looking in to see how it works out. If it looks like fun or worth their time the future could be looking really bright, where’s my shades.

And yes, I do hope we can bring other pros to the site in the future. Vediamo.

Curious how it will turn out..

100 interviewers and 1 who is interviewed seems a tough job too me..

Eergh... this is why the Gar-men are leading. They're cheap

I don’t have anyone from THR. Is that bad?

Garmen is leading because they are American..

And well.. I have 1. Because I was a fan of him before he left to THR.. Up to you. There are some promising youngsters

i know...many are Australian (of the Gar-men). I think the track stuff will get in the way

but I have Bobridge. i love Renshaw, but while ever he’s Cav’s pilot fish I’m not sure I see the point. That said, my team aren’t likely to win anything but the Lanterne Rouge…

A frozen 'cross ride from this last weekend. As you may be aware we have had siberian conditions here in the UK with a low of -14 degrees centigrade here on saturday morning. It was a beautiful sunny morning so i layered up and set off for a snowy 'cross ride along a roman road. I checked the thermometer when i got back to find it had been -10 throughout the ride! I had a lot of fun though and the views were spectacular.
